Man is flawed not because God made him but because man chooses to be flawed...

It's because I think we should not make anything up. And because I think it is worse that we believe in anything that someone else has made up. Humans created God in their imaginations because they were afraid of the unknown and afraid of death. Also, we can do good without god.

Like some alluded to, you dont even know if you are really a human or real. You simply cannot prove it. Electrical impulse is the gate between your perception of reality and your perception of yourself.

Until you can define yourself, God, the stars, etal are a moot point.

I almost wonder if the term agnostic has been butchered over the years to simply resemble that of the atheists.

I had always thought that an agnostic believed in the soul and something that survives after this mortal coil is exhausted but that knowledge of what comes after can not be know. This reality was specifically designed that way.

The unknown. The spiritual amnesia. The freedom.

I find those who are most miserable in this reality are able as far from those thoughts as possible, including the majority of the religious.

They have built mental prisons that are taller than any building and more confining than tight underwear.

For those who love this reality, you can see a light in their eyes. A patience. A persistence. An understanding and usually love, compassion and honor towards any who prove worthy. For those that don't prove worthy, not anger or hatred but simple distance 'Smile and Nod' 'It is what it is'.

Actually it doesn’t even require belief, it just means someone should go through the motions of a believer, just in case there is a god. Because it minimizes the risk.

You say you don't have blinkers on, but you can't accept that other people don't see a deity when when they look at the wonders of the Universe. That's blinkers. Your own perspective has stopped you even trying to understand a different point of view. I see the same things you do, and marvel at the unwinding of the laws of Nature to create such complexity and abundance... but I see literally no reason to leap from that observation to a deity of any sort. Instead, I want to understand. To me, your way is a pointless denial of the wonder, by inventing an explanation that doesn't really explain anything.

The mere thought of God doesn't question my beliefs in the Universe and my place in it, because I don't have any fixed beliefs. I have ideas that I play with, and try to break in order to further my understanding, and come closer to the truth. The concept of a God making everything is one of the first ideas that was thrown at me, but I discarded that one as largely pointless many, many years ago. It's just not anything close to being the most compelling possibility, and I no longer give it any thought. I appreciate that God is central to your perception of yourself, but to me the concept is largely irrelevant. It's just not very interesting.

It's ridiculous to claim that religion gives us morality when morality exists in places where religion is unknown, or where Christianity is unknown. I reject religion *and* evil, (which might even be redundant.)

We know right from wrong inherently. Most people are just so fucked up by the time they reach adulthood that they're out of touch with themselves. Maybe some can get rehabilitated by beliefs that involve reward and punishment, but that doesn't mean such beliefs are required for one to be decent, compassionate, and ethical.

I was one of the biggest believers there was, up until the age of 20 when critical thought took over.

I would wager many are like me, that emerged from the belly of the beast. I was even an alter boy for 4 years.

You know what? I am more moral and compassionate now that before. I actually try to speak truthfully and do not cheat or steal. Something that religion did not teach me, especially through watching how 90% of the congregation acted in real life. They simply go through the motions, go to confession once in a while and start all over. But you know what, they are saved simply by the act of confession, not how they act in this reality.

What they fail to understand is a big bang which actually would be impossible without something in space existing first wouldnt make sense, and for it to align planets perfectly for earth to have life isnt possible

Also, if they cant believe God could have existed from nothing then how could the big bang come.from nothing?
