Technological and moral advancement are different. It happens that Europeans at the time were more advanced in both categories. The Indian savages were still sacrificing humans at the time. And they did barbaric things like scalp people. The Indians didn’t live in some magical harmony, whatever that means. They simply didn’t have that big of a population. In Central and South America where they had large populations that had all sorts of problems.
Your history is off. When the Romans conquered the British Isles and Germany the natives didn’t have substantial cities with open sewers. But you are right that the Romans did have advanced technology. They also had advanced morality and religion which they brought to the natives. Those natives were able to adopt and even improve, unlike the natives of other places, including the New World.

Victorian Europe's technological advances were entirely imported from ancient Mediterranean empires, Middle East, India and Egypt. Forget Roma and Greece.
