Exactly. If you can walk a 6" beam on the ground without falling you can walk a 6" beam 2000 feet in the air, same as swimming- if you don't drown in 3' of water you wont in 3000' either. It's your paranoia that causes you to mess up.

I like when he throws that brace onto the roof, they don't need no stinking OSHA.

I'm sure when they're done it's going to be top notch safe, toe kicks will be in place and tie offs will be text book.

Scissor brace planking is retarded. Metal on metal is not very stable.

Any high work takes getting use to--some can't do it. If one wants to live a full life, there are do's and don'ts. Chinese don't give a shit about life I guess.

Have heard and read about native Americans for years with supposed abilities working at heights. Have also read that there is not really anything that makes them more capable. This would be a good one to research. It may have been an issue of limited job opportunities more than anything else. Would be interested to hear from any others with more intimate knowledge.

That's why we can't compete, and we will never be able to compete.

I had a safety nazi nearly throw me offsite a couple weeks ago for taking my gloves off so that I could start a screw by hand.

Meanwhile, these motherfuckers are getting shit done. Long Duck Dong here in the video is gonna build that skyscraper in half the time and half the cost as we could, in fucking flip flops.

People say OSHA saves lives, I say bullshit only for now. Their role should be to protect workers from being forced to do dangerous things at work AGAINST THEIR WILL. Once their mandate spread past that 20 years ago or so, they became the problem.

The amount of lives lost when our economy finally collapses will exceed all the workplace deaths in the past 100 years.

I worked in Class A construction for 22 years. The Indian thing was a thing perhaps 90 to one hundred years ago.

Although I am not a structural iron worker, (was a carpenter) I knew many for many years--actual friends. None were native Americans-at least significantly so. Most Americans have much more Indian blood that warren has, but still a small amount--and most don't even know it.

I doubt my 1/16 Native American blood had much to do with me being able to work hundreds of feet in the air. I, along with many thousands spend decades a split second from a fatal "accident". It is not easy to get used to--crawl, walk, run. It takes some time. My wife would get excited/nervous when I showed her pictures from work.

Long Duck Dong there is making good money for where he lives doing that work, and I bet ya he's happy as fuck to have that job.

And back when we built skyscrapers like that, the unions weren't like they were now. It was a honest day's work for a honest day's pay.

That's not what unions are about anymore, it's about extracting as much money from the employer as possible so that 40% of it can be siphoned off to the union and passed to communist politicians.

I spent about 15 years in an industry working at these heights... it's funny I never looked at it that way until I was talking with a friend of mine who's a cop trying to figure out who had the more dangerous job.

It wan't a dick measuring contest, we were honestly just trying to figure it out. And that's when I realized it's exactly how you put it... not that dangerous a job really but at the same time you are always just one slip or minor error away from instant death for 50-60 hours per week.

There's a bell curve of danger doing work like this... at first it's dangerous because you're scared and not thinking straight. Then it's safer because you learn how to handle it but are still very vigilant. Then it's dangerous again because you're too comfortable with it, and aren't as careful.

THIS. As a U.S. Army Paratrooper, I exited in-flight aircraft 78 times at varying altitudes from 1,000-1,500 feet 78 times, with an additional under canopy drop from the 250 foot tower. Balancing on an under construction building at a height from which a fall would kill me? NO WAY IN HELL.

I lived in a place with a lack of safety regulations for construction. They had to import foreigners because no local is insane enough to work in the industry as it is.

I regularly read news about them getting crushed or falling to their deaths.
I don't know what lies they told you, but I can promise they were lies.

No, and partial Yes

like that never

4 stories up on a 2x4 sure, your just as dead if your above concrete.

i seen a little foreigner do a one footed no handed pirouette on the top of a 4inchx4inch pole 2 1/2 stories up

you gotta go slow and get used to it, but not that high no.
Too disorienting.

I was up partying on a tower roof long ago, and some guy from T.O. got up and walked the perimeter on the concrete 1 foot wide concrete wall. Like an acrobat.

and also people show-off, and or try to appear working when on film, and faster than usual, we all do it.
