Jon Stewart chokes up, gives angry speech to Congress re 9/11 First Responders

He looks like crap, he looks a lot older than mid 50's.

The first responders including the 343 fireman killed were like the first wave that stormed Omaha Beach on D Day.

He's a JOKE,A NOTHING,who cares.

I lived about 60 block North of that mess. Showed up out of Patriotic duty at the Javitz Center to work on the pileon 9/12 and got turned back cause the tradesman already had it handled. So we walked down there anyway...breathed in increasingly noxious fumes as we got closer,retreated to a bar and took deep breathes knowing that air was no fucking good for anybody to breathe.

I might be affected someday...not sure. But those guys that did that every day sure as hell are and need our help.

Jon Stewart is a liberal. It was a staged event. He was right that congress does nothing. I don't see how this is useful for the democrat party.

This was an awesome speech and I Agree with John Stewart completely!! The 911 responders are hero's!! They should get every thing they need!! Now!! And should have been getting all they needed since 911!! It's despicable that all of Congress wasn't there for these responsders!!

nothing here was staged, very few democrats showed up either.

The only reason a couple dems and the chair showed up is because they HAVE TO as the majority party in power regardless of anything else, to maintain quorum in their favor.

Both parties don't care.

John Stewart is just an actor getting paid to play a role.
He just doing what he gets paid to do.

My partner on the job, and one of my best friends, was fucking FLATLY DENIED COMPENSATION because she had mesothelioma..
They tried to say she got it, because, when she was a fucking child, he father was a brick layer, so she must have gotten it second hand off his clothes, as they used asbestos in brick laying in the old days.
No way she got it down there, while they told us we didn't need to wear face masks. Uh huh.

OK... So the fund is a joke, as far as actual responders are concerned.

Firemen get HUGE COMPENSATION, with early retirement, full benefits.

You're fired, no benefits but your pension, when you turn 65 that is.

You really think "777" New York firefighters had died prior to 911 with a further 7*7*7 firefighters dying during 9/11?

They seem to have a record, all of them, of ignoring our service men.
Guys in wwi and wwii came home to few jobs, no good after care.
Korean war vets were denied care unless they could afford to travel quit a ways. My brother lost a lung and died young from injuries, the VA hospitals were either one a seven hour round trip. He didnt have a car due to injuries and no buses run up here...plus these guys had families and couldnt afford to take time off and lose a job.
The vietnam vets were treated horribly. I knew lots of them that all died in their fifties of chemical exposure, heart trouble, all denied and by the time they finally offered help after several lawsuits, the guys were dead etc etc etc.
Where was Jon when he had a platform on his show during the Obama years...in 2012 alone, 6300 Vets survived Iraq, some after several tours, and the va hosp services for PTSD care was so screwed up they committed suicide in despair.

The saddest thing is for these fire fighters who had whole families wiped out on 911 because dads and brothers and cousins of the same families served together. So their widows and fatherless kids were just ignored.'
Say what you want about Trump and bill Oreilly, they gave alot to the Wounded Warriors, and the VA hospitals was one of the first problems Trump undertook and his first years salary was donated to them.

Each 9/11 victim's family was paid an average of $1.8 million by the US government. Then some demanded more. Even fiancées received compensation.

Imagine how pissed he'd be if he knew the truth about 9/11. He has no clue that what he's doing on behalf of the first responders is a complete waste of time. TPTB knew full well that the towers were full of asbestos and that the first responders would breathe that shit in and get terribly ill. Not only do TPTB not give a fuck, they LOVE destroying human health.

If a first responder in the USA is killed or injured in any other situation other than 9/11, does Congress compensate them? Just curious.

Democratic mayor de Blasio didn't even show up at a memorial service to 9/11 first responders. The gym was more important.

There was asbestos in the towers they had to get rid of, so conveniently they “collapsed” and the brave workers and private insurance took care of everything else. Problem solved!

Once you understand that complete psychopaths run the show, it makes sense.

This is not a partisan issue, it’s about defending our fucking country from all enemies
, foreign AND DOMESTIC.

9-11 remains unsolved, stalling tactics on all fronts because these types of cancer can be traced just like thermite in the dust.

Honest question, I know that these people need and deserve help, but why aren't the builders, owners responsible for some of these costs? they used the materials that are killing these people now

Three actually, if you count the 60-story WTC building 7 that the BBC announced was going to collapse about 20 min before it did.

Either way it's not a left-right issue, it's about people's rights to be treated fairly and defending the founding principles of the country. 9-11 was not "just two buildings," you must to be a special needs student to say something like that.
