It's a song that features clips of actual Iranian women dancing prior to the 1979 islamic revolution. The last few seconds of the video delivers the message of bondage vs freedom Thank you for posting These are the grandmothers of Iran now back when they were 20 years old - dancing - dressing western - having fun and Burka free!!! PS women covered head to toe cannot receive Vitamin D from the sun - and get rickets and can have babies with rickets - a bone-deforming disease from lack of sunlight |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76202283 Today I have a Subaru Outback with a killer sound system, and crystal clear digital music, with all my favorite songs from 1960 on. I also really like my Toyota Tacoma, but the sound system isn't near as good as the Subaru. I love the wonderful air conditioning, and all the gadgets. In 1979 I owned a video tape deck, which I recorded late night movies on, and watched later. Programming it was a fucking nightmare, and the video quality sucked. Also the movies in the 1970s really sucked. It was like the movie industry had died, and that's why I watched taped old movies. Today I rip videos onto my computer, and watch movies and comedy TV shows on my laptop while reclining comfortably in my bed. Plus I have a 55 inch 4K TV that I watch all my entertainment on, and also play video games on. Entertainment is a thousand times better today. In 1979 I had a record player, which really fucking sucked. I hated trying to clean records to get ride of the snaps and pops, which were distracting as hell. Records really ruined the listening experience, not to mention flipping records, etc. Today digital music is like being in heaven, no distractions, just listening pleasure. in 1979 - people could make a rational, cogent argument in 2019 - people are unable to make a rational , cogent argument - this post for one... because YOU , in 1979, had a crappy ride and sound system bc you were poor is not pertinent to the topic and if you were surfing - why would you even need a heater or AC you admit you had all the tech - just the crappy , poor person version - that's pretty awesome for 1979 - so you had a record player in 1979 ? that's great - it means , unless you live like a filthy pig, that you could listen to ENDLESS MUSIC for almost free - and again NOT THE REMASTERED crap good grief , you proved my points at least 5 times over cheers Entertainment for the lowest common denominator of the masses improved? It does seem like the most educable were deflected or killed off. "Entertainment" does the rest. Breeding, a la the baby boom, was encouraged? by whom? after world war two. That generation went to vietnam or factories at home. There is still a need for military, but via enlistment, not the draft, which many turn to for employment, since the factories are largely gone to asia. Large latin component. What's with the importation of third worlders, who are very difficult to integrate. Even american blacks are still difficult to integrate, no matter how much propaganda is thrown. Whom does this benefit? Whose idea was this? These changes don't just happen, people do this. Were they blackmailed? |

In 2019, I have an online newspaper with 120,000 monthly visitors at a cost of about $100 per month. Now i make $5,000 a month gross In 1979, it took me a month to get my news to my readers, people were waiting. In 2019, it takes seconds to get my news to my readers along with hundreds of other news they are bombarded with. In 1979, I could make a wrong turn and be lost for hours. I would stop in a new town, get directions and have a beer and make friends In 2019, it's impossible to get lost with a smart phone In 1979, I could go days without being aware of a family emergency but I also didn't get the bullshit calls. In 2019, it's immediate and never ending noise and word salad. In 1979, finding old Marine Corps buddies was nearly impossible. In 2019, I have found 8 of them and we hang out once in a while. They look more beat up now than after a 25 mile force march back then. |

Lost Pottawatomie User ID: 72549179 United States 06/30/2019 09:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Many thoughts. Fuel economy dropped most in 1972. Compression ratios were dropped, camshaft centerlines retarded. All to keep combustion temps lower to avoid NO2. Lower temps mean fuel not effectively used to move a vehicle. The unburned fuel then needed by air injection pumps, then in 76, catalytic converters. But 20 mpg was a regular avg for small V8s and highway mileage. More NOX (2 and 3) are produced by electrical action in the atmosphere than than combustion engines, so it is unclear why the EPA decided to target it as a bad emmision...makes rain a bit more acidic but also feeds all plants nitrogen. Which is why spring rains in thunderstorms green up grass so quickly. This is how VW got such high mileage from their diesel..when being monitored, keep combustion temps down....when in use, run combustion temps for maximum efficiency. The only sin is putting more plant fertilizer component in the air? When solar ionization creates a lot anyway? Could be why so much money is in ag fertilizer.... lately I have seen ag companies promoting the benefits of adding sulphur to soil in compared yield. It wasn't an issue much before, but what has changed is the usage of high sulphur(yesiwanttospellitthisway) coal. Enough of that. In 1979 there was time when an AM radio station could cover 39 states, and had many listeners in a 700 mile range. Some, like WLS had call in features like "Boogie Check" and getting on the air was instant fame in your city, because a lot of people heard it. And the music was already heavily format controlled by then. (Programming of "this is what you will like") In 2019, any response or opinion can be input and seen anywhere within a second. The audience is far more diffuse, and not like when a large event or occurance grabs everyone's attention. In 1979 I might have a stuck carburetor float needle valve stuck open by a piece of sand and take the top off the carb, clean both needle valve tips and be on my way in 30 minutes. In 2019, if my ECU doesn't have a particular signal, the engine won't even get any fuel to TRY to run. Or way too much. And there's nothing that can be done to get me back on the road. In 1979 Photography was still silver film and prints and not easy at all. Anyone can make stunning photos now. In 1979 it was great to be free and disconnected from everything except what you were doing. In 2019 it's great to be connected to everything, no matter where or what you are doing. In 1979 there were a lot of people that just seemed regular but in 2019 would be called skinny. Computers in 1979 were pretty dang cloddy, but useful for specific tasks. Computers in 2019 will find a thousand ways to interface with you even if you don't have any tasks for them or want to hear from them. Great thread.
