FBI is now investigating SIX mysterious American deaths at two hotels in the Dominican Republic
The FBI is now investigating six mysterious deaths of seemingly healthy Americans who died suddenly at one of two resorts in the Dominican Republic within the past year.

Robert Bell Wallace, 67, of California became ill almost immediately after drinking an alcoholic beverage from his in-room minibar at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino resort in Punta Cana on April 10, and died on April 14 after being hospitalized, Fox News reported.

Pennsylvania's Miranda Schaup-Werner, 41, also died after consuming a drink from a resort minibar across the island at Bahia Principe Hotel in La Romana on May 25.

Five days later, Maryland couple Cynthia Day, 49, and Nathaniel Holmes, 63, were found dead in their rooms on May 30 at the same resort, though staying in an adjacent sister hotel.

Perhaps this is about a very successful liquor maker, maybe tequila, maybe rum.

But, he's got serious competition and it's really hurting his business.

What to do, what to do?

Oh, I know.

Poison this competitor's liquor, where a few People suffer and die, and when the deaths are traced back to your competitor they will go to jail and you'll remain the top dog liquor maker once again...

Unless, of course someone in the know starts talking.

I've been scuba diving all over the Caribbean. I can easily say the DR is the most sketchy island I've visited. Even in the daytime you can feel trouble around every corner.

Holmes and Day had an autopsy done already and i believe the results were respiratory failure and pulmonary edema. But the toxicology results are not in.

I went to the DR earlier this year and had no issues. I'm glad I went when I did though because all of these reports started popping up and I'd feel a lot more sketchy about the trip.

I went to the DR earlier this year and had no issues. I'm glad I went when I did though because all of these reports started popping up and I'd feel a lot more sketchy about the trip.

Went to DR a few years ago, stayed at a really nice all inclusive that was expensive and high end but getting to it required driving quite a way thru some real s-hole areas. At the resort I remember being freaked out by the spraying of insecticide on all the vegetation, roofs of our huts, walkways, etc. The workers used hoses that were about half the diameter of a typical fire hose and liberally douched the whole area. They didn't wear protective gear except for gloves. They could not help keep it from over spraying into the pools and ponds and it left an oily slick on the surface of the water. You could smell it for days, so strongly that you'd swear you would also taste it.

That occurred to me, but wouldn't people notice they weren't drinking rum or tequila but Clorox or Lysol?

We went to hard rock in punta cana and had a lovely time. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the hotel was beautiful.
