If you're referring to the ancient tales of Atlantis and Lemuria, their records didn't just disappear.

They remained, because there were survivors.

The continent of Atlantis existed around the modern day Bermuda Triangle.

There lived a blue colored people known as Atlanteans.

They were extremely evil and they were being helped by their Gods who gave them wonder weapons and technology for free.

But in fact the Gods they worshiped were Asuras (demons).

They had an archenemy on Earth, and they were known as Lemurians.

The kingdom of Lemuria existed in modern day Tamil and Sri Lanka area.

Their landmass was a big as modern day India, but you can't find them anymore because they sunk below the ocean.

Their Asuras Gods were known as reptile beings known as Nagas.

So two warring Asura nations tried their best to kill one another and Gods were watching them above.

Their Asura Gods worshiped Trimurti (Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma) of the ancient Hindu religion.

Asuras tried their best to grab an attention of Gods by going through severe penance and they received boons (divine gifts) from Gods they worshiped.

One day Gods agreed they got tired of watching humans fighting for their false Gods and decided to end them all.

One of the Asuras was given a boon to create a powerful weapon from Gods and they transferred that weapon to their devotee humans of Atlantis.

Atlanteans have decided to test a new and powerful weapon based on crystal and laser and their whole island nation sunk below the ocean on the first attempt to test the weapon.

Knowing they were tricked, the survivors attempted to attack their Gods using weapons given by them.

Asuras wondered what happened and asked their Gods what happened.

That's when they were attacked by Devraj Indra and his devas.

Asuras were tricked as usual and they lost the war.

Atlanteans were wondering who devas were, so they attacked Indra who appeared before them.

Devraj Indra became furious, so he ordered a complete annihilation of the blue skinned people from his planet.

Some survived and moved to new land, but they couldn't make babies because they were cursed by Devraj Indra.

The ones who remained in modern day Greece taught what they knew and asked them to worship Devraj Indra as Zeus.

Lemuria was happy that their nemesis was wiped out from the face of the Earth, but never knew their Gods were Asuras in disguise.

Once Naga Asuras ran away as usual, they ended up confronting Devraj Indra and his army of devas.

They asked who they were, but Indra didn't say anything and detonated a powerful weapon that sunk the continent of Lemuria below the ocean.

Knowing they were dealing with something unknown and powerful, Lemurians ran away to other planets and one of them was the Mars.

Devraj Indra and his devas followed Lemurians there and ignited the Martian atmosphere to wipe them out clean.

Some Lemurians remained on the Moon and killed.

That was the history of Atlantis and Lemuria.

I like this story, because modern day Atlantis is you, Mystery Babylonians and modern day Lemuria is Russia.

You're all serving Asuras as Gods and given wonder weapons and technology from them.

You learned how to contact Asuras from Germany, because they chickened out after seeing the power of Brahmastra used in Russian front.

There's no "destroyer cycle" or "destroyer planet". Each and every E.L.E. that happened in this planet is controlled by a puppet-master alien race that has a hard on for playing gods: Anunnaki, archons, watchers, Neter, whatever you wanna call them.
