Could use some Advice on Getting A Loan on Inherited Property.
Wanting to know the best route for getting a loan to payoff
the current loan on the home sitting at around $16,000 and to also
make several repairs and updates to the house.
The resell value is around $89,000 and I would like to borrow a little more than half that amount.

Please advise if you can and thank you to those that do.

if it's your primary residence, you should be able to apply for a conventional/fha mortgage or heloc, depending on the condition and appraisal value of the property.

if you're not going to live in it, you'll have to qualify for a personal/investment loan.

talk to your bank and tell them what you want to do. they'll talk options with you.

Several options, all depending on your situation and financial strength.

Briefly, you might be able to potentially refinance the existing loan with cash-out to make improvements. Or you can potentially take a Home Equity Line of Credit on this house or your primary residence to make the improvements.

A good small town local bank should be able to guide you on options. I would start there. They can tell you what it takes to qualify for this kind of financing.

How much equity do you have on the place?
