I have had my credit card numbers stolen twice in the last 3 months, both times it occurred at different restaurants (when waitress/waiter or cashier took my card to pay for the food (they either wrote down numbers or used a scanner to get info off card). The last incident occurred at a sonic burger, the reason why I knew the person took my numbers is 5 days later their were 6 charges on my card, 4 for sonic burger online (gift cards totaling between $20-50 each) and one for a gas station 1500 miles away and a $1500 at an electronics store in another state. luckily bank stopped payments after the 4 sonic gift cards and rejected the gas station and online electronics store..
