I lived in Manhattan and was there on 9 11. That's about the fourth day after. I was down there and looked around. I ate food in a diner directly across the site.

Crap had been raining down on the entire New York City AREA not just the immediate area around the site, and continued to rain down for 2 weeks. Millions of people were exposed to asbestos and all sorts of crap. They told people not to worry so those that could have just left NYC could have but didn't. It was handled in a very lack way as if it was just another building collapse.

It took me two weeks to get out of the city, even though I could have left the next day. The day of, we were trapped. They didn't let us out of Manhattan. So we thought that was it, we are going to die. Talk about triggering. Very upsetting to recall.
