I'd hate to be someone who doesn't know that the market crashes in regular cycles... pretty much right about now or 10 years is about the max for sustained growth in the market.

Congrats to anyone enjoying the fruits of this market! Just remember, it can go down and go down fast. If you are nearing retirement please take a good look at your IRA or 401k amount now and ask if that doesn't seem like enough. Then imagine losing half. It can happen and in fact it pretty much always happens its just not clear when. You might want to lock in some gains. I've witnessed it first hand. When more than half vanish in the tech meltdown, the people were asking themselves how could they not have thought that the amount they had was not enough? Be smart. Be careful. If you are young and have years to work, you can be a little more aggressive. If you are close to retire, be safe. Financial advisers don't necessarily tell their clients this, unless things have changed since the last crash.

As much as I hate to admit it, this is Obama's economy. The guy made the most of really bad situation. Employment has increased each month for well over 100 months. Heck, the stock market more than doubled under his Presidency. Again, I hate to admit it.

yeah, all those tax cuts and regulation changes and pro american business policies of the last 2 years that made the stock market go from 16000 to 27000 mean nothing.

I can admit my balance is working out~just keeping an eye on the margin in case a bubble pops.

Most financial pundits give more credit to the guy who inherited an economy on the ropes as as opposed to the guy who inherited a stable, upward bound economy. I tend to agree.
