It doesn't say that anywhere even though the authors clearly tried to frame their experimental data to give the appearance of it being true; they can't get around the fact that it was an acute toxicology study though because 99.9% of the most commonly used pharmaceuticals are even worse. CBD, a substance often touted as being safer than popping pills, has become highly revered as an alternative treatment for a variety of common ailments from anxiety to chronic pain. But a new study suggests that CBD may spawn its fair share of health issues. Specifically, scientists have learned that this substance could be damaging our livers in the same way as alcohol and other drugs. Researchers at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science recently rolled up their sleeves to investigate CBD hepatotoxicity in mice. What they found was while this cannabis derivative is gaining significant recognition as of late in the world of wellness, people that use CBD are at an elevated risk for liver toxicity. The findings, which were published earlier this year in the journal Molecules, suggest that while people may be using CBD as a safer alternative to conventional pain relievers, like acetaminophen, the compound may actually be just as harmful to their livers. It is the methods used in this study that makes it most interesting. First, researchers utilized all of the dosage and safety recommendations from a CBD-based drug known as Epidiolex. If this name sounds familiar, it should. Last year, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved it as a treatment for certain kinds of childhood epilepsy. It was a development that marked the first time in history that a cannabis-based medicine was approved for nationwide distribution in the United States. Shockingly, researchers discovered that the mice given higher doses of CBD showed signs of liver damage within 24 hours. To that end, 75 percent of these animals in the sub-acute phase had either died or were on the verge of death within a few days. Anonymous Coward User ID: 77743250 United States 06/20/2019 07:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good luck getting enough down in herb form Acute case: a single lethal dose of 2460mg/kg 100% CBD which for convenience I convert to 2.460gm/kg.: The average male weighs 175lbs, or 79kg. The lethal single dose in this case is 79kg x 2.460 gm/kg = 194gm. In a 1oz of Lyfter CBD flower there is 18.46% CBD, This means that 0.1846oz is CBD. 0.1846 oz is 0.1846 oz x 28.3495gm/oz = 5.233gm. This is 5.233gm/oz of Lyfter. Therefore, the average person would have to ingest 194gm/5.233gm/oz = 37.07oz in a single sitting to reach toxic levels. Subacute case: 615mg/kg per day administered for 10 days. 615mg/kg = 0.615gm/kg. The equivalent daily dose for the 79kg person is 79kg x0.615gm/kg = 48.6gm. Therefore the subacute dose for the average person is 48.6gm/5.233gm/oz = 9.29oz. Summary: The single lethal dose for 175lb person is 37.07oz. The subacute dose is 9.29oz per day for 10 days. Somebody make one of these for CBD? [link to www.caffeineinformer.com (secure)] |

If I drink water at the recommended 8 glasses a day, but do it 10X normal like these complete morons from Arkansas, then I would have to drink 80 glasses of water. Here is my comparison using an example from wikipedia on Water Intoxication: January 12, 2007: Jennifer Strange died after drinking nearly 2 gallons (7.6 liters) of water in over 3 hours in an attempt to win a Nintendo Wii. The KDND radio station's morning show, the Morning Rave, held an on-air contest entitled "Hold Your Wee for a Wii," in which contestants were asked to drink as much water as they could without urinating. The DJs were made aware of the dangers but did not inform the contestants. KDND’s parent company Entercom Sacramento LLC was subsequently ordered to pay $16,577,118 in damages to Jennifer's family.[17][18] Obviously C-nnabis Kills People is a retard, here it is staight from the journal [link to www.mdpi.com (secure)] 2.1. Acute Toxicity Study For acute toxicity studies, a dose of 246 mg/kg was chosen as an initial dose as this is a MED analogous to those used in recent clinical trials (MED of 20 mg/kg CBD) [1,2]. Subsequently, we used doses of 738 and 2460 mg/kg CBD as 3× and 10× doses, respectively. Therefore Water and Cannabis are both good! |
