Because it only affects people at a certain window in time. Why should only people with CURRENT student loan debt have their debt forgiven? What about people that worked hard, sacrificed and paid off their debt? What about people who start college in a few years?

Not to mention those who worked full time and went to school and paid their way as they went? (like me)

It also encourages people to amass loan debt and not pay it off in hopes that some politician panders to voters by promising to 'forgive' their debt.

Maybe they should have debt forgiveness for STEM fields - but as for anything with studies at the end of it, those degrees should all be revoked as fraudulent and the Universities who issued them be criminally sued.

only for those with specific infrastructure skills and repayment to those who paid off their debts. Certainly not for those with arts degrees or non medical or infrastructure skills.
