All this being said, everyone deserves their bottom. Hitting bottom usually sparks change.
Quoting: MissCleo True, they do deserve their bottom....problem is, if people keep handing them crutches they never quite reach that bottom. Alcoholism usually results in losing a job, then family, then home... there is a clear pattern, then most of them die. Few of them make it. AA helps. 12 steps is a scheduled program to help people cope with alcoholism. Dependency is a huge habit to break. Kicking someone when they are down doesn't help them reach bottom quicker. just sayin. All true but the FIRST STEP in anyone healing as you well know is to first acknowledge they have the problem BUT at least equally important if not more so, that person MUST want help.
