No, no, no. No one is emasculating men. Men are beautiful wonderful creatures. Toxic behavior and domestic violence isn't masculine, it's abusive. Not all men are abusive. But there are abusive men, and women.

Our prisons are filled with abusive men, and women. Not ALL men are in prison. Not all men are abusive but there are lots... with TOXIC behavior.

Chip calling me a cunt... is toxic behavior. No excuses, no doubt, it's abuse.

Some women are targeted. They are used, trafficked, lots of other things. The world is a cruel place. Women are not raised to be fighters, or strong in many cases. Many are damaged and don't have fight or flight response, they just freeze with PTSD. It's more common than we think.

But at some point people will hit bottom. And that's when they will pick themselves back up or die.

You called him toxic isn't that the definition of toxic behavior? You also accused him of violence and abuse towards Miggy.

You made up an accusation.... shame on you. And yes, my friend, using a blanket statement like “toxic masculinity “ is to say that masculinity in and of itself is poison. Which in turn will cause men to avoid masculine behavior in order to not be thought of as toxic. To tell a man to avoid masculine behavior is emasculating.

Oh and before you think I know nothing of abuse, I do, and have the plate and screws in my neck to prove it. Still suffer 30 years later almost daily from headaches. Let me give you some advice, words, name calling, are fucking not violent abuse. I’ll take being called names any day over TRUE physical abuse. There is a HUGE difference, I suggest you recant your words and apologize to Chip for accusing him of violence towards Miggy.

OH Gosh..don't apologize, I understand how emotions and things work on the internet. Sometimes it's difficult to get a point across when it's in this format as opposed to in person, etc. Besides, if not for this I'm quite certain I deserve it for something!

Actually if they are still there I asked her several specific questions in various posts, none of which did she bother to respond. At this point, unless you just want them to see what I was talking about I can either go find them or you can rewind the arrow to see them but that's up to you.

Early on I was very hesitant to say a peep, always wanting to give someone the benefit of the doubt but I have been here longer than my current persona indicates and even though there have been previous "crisis" presented here, that was NOT my concern.

What I was concerned with were the numerous inconsistencies in this thread, all of them from Miggy herself and while I am generous to a fault when I see red flags I can't unsee them and pretend they don't exist.

As I have repeated, I don't like the idea of someone, anyone taking advantage of peoples good hearts and the more I saw in the thread the more inconsistencies I witnessed.

Again, as far as the red, don't worry about it, I knew what I was saying going in would have ramification.

I’ll bet Miggy is actually a short Latino guy, that just received over $2000 to spend on Tequila on tattoos.

Fact is, I don't know anyone who actually only pays "minimum wage"....I live in Dallas and the dang burger places start at $12 an hour! I'm serious about that, I've seen numerous signs over the years in their windows and they have trouble getting anyone to work for that. The Tulsa job market, as is the case with the entire southwest region is HOT from any prospective employee...just sayin.

Toxic masculinity has it's own definition which has already been posted. I didn't make that up, it's used by Women's shelters, law enforcement and lawyers.
It's not that hard to understand.
Domestic Violence is also defined by MANY organizations that work with Domestic Violence Cases. ALL violence escalates.
So call them, their numbers are listed.

I will ask one that I recall:

Miggy, how did you lose your job? Were you fired, asked to resign or did you quit? Whatever the answer, what led up to it? I agree it was confusing when you said many people were let go (as in a lay off) but it sounds like something happened with you.

Just want you know that whatever happened, I have no regrets about chipping in :) People get in jams and need help and I know that. I hope if I ever reach out to my GLP buds that it will be there for me. Point being, NO SHAME and just asking for the particulars to clear this all up.

The last job I had was Software QA in 2008, but I have been living in a small town and didn't have a dependable vehicle to get me to where jobs where.

I applied at the local grocery store and hardware store as I had "stocking" experience, albeit 25+ years ago in a manufacturing company.

Too many others too explain.

Doesn't matter now as I am collecting my Social Security.

I wouldn't blame her if she DOESN'T post in here again.

Far TOO much bashing from some folks - who wouldn't be satisfied with any type of "explanation".

Im 60+ - and over the years have seen people that just seem to have "difficult lives" for various reasons.

OP's last employer forced her to resign. I personally would have fought that but many folks just can't.



At this point I hope she gets hired in a better job and can move on.

I very much doubt that, but even if it were true, that guy would have to answer and explain his actions to Heavenly Father, while the people who were kind-hearted and donated a little will have their names in His Book of Life.

It all works out in the end.

I wonder if she tried to get her old job back.

Also credit ratings aren't the big deal they are made out to be in some cases. I was looking at some Tulsa properties where she says she lives.

Now they go from over a million to in some places but plenty under 25,000.
Just small 1-2 bedrooms, bath, kitchen and living room but a place all her own. Neighborhood might not be the best but at least a start or re-start to begin making better choices for herself.

She would probably have a much higher interest rate due to finances (for a couple of years) but maybe she could take the 2,000 from GFM and put it toward a small house or condo unit. It would be her's and most loans only require you live there for 1 year at which time she could sell if things get better.

My take is she has aligned herself with some toxic people including her own family. It's tough but sometimes you have to cut the toxic people including family members out. I had to do it and once done, it's like setting down a large bag of bricks. It's just a relief. You can keep praying for them but you don't have to take their advice or socialize with them.

If she keeps up with her mortgage payments for 6 months she could get a car providing she has a driving license. She didn't mention only that she ride a bus.
