Carbs do. Fat is healthy.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76939252

Fat makes you fat.

The only reason why eating a diet of carbs would make you fat is because you're also eating FAT.

Carbs do not make you fat.

What happens is.... if you eat fat and carbs together, your body only takes the carbs, because carbs is it's preferred energy source.

... And then it stores the fat.... as fat.

Fat is back up energy.

That is what it literally is. It is BACK UP ENERGY.

So if you eat fat on a carbohydrate diet, the fat you eat will be stored as FAT, and not used.

Only the carbs will be used.

In actuality it is extremely difficult to get fat on a *healthy* carb-only diet.

Extremely difficult.

It's only when you include FAT in that diet, do you become fat.

I HATE the keto diet.

It is a STUPID WEIGHT-LOSS HACK.

It literally puts your body into STARVATION MODE.

Because you ARE STARVING YOURSELF.

Re: Guys, I have gone "fruitarian".
can u say "DIEABEETUS"?

your body wont like all that sugar.

alsofruits are meant for the seed to have something to protect itself from the elements,
and provide energy to restart growth once it falls to the ground and needs to germinate.

also, the fruit works as a delivery system thru a predators digestive tract, to a new location. its not so you can have something tasty.

the logic just isnt there im afraid. you may as well just write your name on everything you eat, so you know its "meant specifically for you"

I have to agree. I tried paleo and felt awful. Now I am doing what Anthony William recommends, low fat, plant based and my energy and mood improved a lot. I still eat a little chicken and turkey.
I can't speak about weight loss, My weight is ok. I'm doing it for fatigue and neurological issues.
My brother did keto and lost weight but did not feel well on it and it was hard for him to maintain.

Corrected: I did paleo, my brother did keto.

I should add that onThanksgiving, my brother and I both te the same turkey dinner and he checked our blood sugars an hour later, as he is diabetic and doing keto for that as his doctor recommended. My sugar was 130 and his was around 430. He had been doing some kind of high fat snacks too along with eating mainly meat.

Now he is on some kind of injection that makes him really sick but he has lost quite a bit of weight.

To be fair, he is much more sedentary than I am.

Read the entire article. Worth your time ...

the low-fat-is-good-health hypothesis has now effectively failed the test of time. In particular, that we are in the midst of an obesity epidemic that started around the early 1980's, and that this was coincident with the rise of the low-fat dogma. (Type 2 diabetes, the most common form of the disease, also rose significantly through this period.) They say that low-fat weight-loss diets have proved in clinical trials and real life to be dismal failures, and that on top of it all, the percentage of fat in the American diet has been decreasing for two decades. Our cholesterol levels have been declining, and we have been smoking less, and yet the incidence of heart disease has not declined as would be expected. ''That is very disconcerting,'' Willett says. ''It suggests that something else bad is happening.''

People were probably gaining weight because they were eating a lot of low fat junk food. Eating fruits and vegetables some grain and some lean meats will not make a person fat. Too many calories will make a person fat and a sedentary lifestyle will do that as well.

Because that fruit has seeds of the plant.

So the seeds with travel with the animal, and the animal will excrete the seeds in it's excrement.

99.99 fruit you eat today is the result of genetic selection making them full of fructose and low in nutrients. Nothing to do with natural fruits.

also is fruit off season, off climatic zone.

good luck with destroying your liver.

fructose is additive as alcohol because has the exact same liver pathway.Because fructose do not get converted into energy it gets converted in stored fat...mostly in your organs...like non alcoholic fatty liver.

you barely survive eating few local fruit in the summer because high UV will remove partially the hard work to the liver by decomposing bilirubine.

ask all the people who went vegan or vegetarian and then regreted after years.
