If you asked 15+ years ago the answer would have been yes.

If you're a freelancer (whatever industry you're in) you are just a drop in the water. You're competing with the already existing millions of other freelancers. Who are more experienced and skilled than you, and who will do it cheaper. India, China, Pakistan have factories of freelancers ready to do what you do for pennies an hour.

Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, etc, have been overrun by overseas manufacturers who are taking their products directly to the consumers at below wholesale prices. So they've cut out the middlemen and you wont be able to make enough profit trying to compete with them.

Websites or other things are also out. The main ad revenue sources is Google's Adsense. And they super strict with how much who earns. You'll make close to nothing. Its based on Google site ranking and you'll never reach the top 10 ranking because there's decades old sites who are more established and well known than you will be and they'll never lose their spots. And if by some miracle you strike lucky, Google can totally suspend your Adsense account at whim for whatever reason they want and take all your earnings before you had a chances to withdraw it. Which happens a lot.


And no matter what else you think of, there's already millions there, ahead of you, doing the same thing about the same thing. You'll be invisible.

Anyone who says otherwise is just clueless or living in a fantasy world.

I have been working online, and hiring for the company I am working for, in excess of ten years. We are almost always hiring. These days that is because volume is so high, and getting responsible people that actually want to work, and are coherent, adult, mature and use language in a professional and intelligent manner.

Just had to let a younger lady go today in fact because she got insulting when a middle aged woman could not understand her slang and made up language crap.

So for all of you "cool" kids that speak like morons... Yes, it IS your fault that you can't get or keep a job. Grow up, learn simple language skills and be professional... Or work at McDonald's overnight forever.

The bad part is the hours. They're early morning (4-8 AM or so).

But, they're a successful company that has been around for years. They are located in China and teach children ages 5-12....

But, if you read any reviews on this, you'd already know it. It is legitimate and widely used. But, you have to have legal permission to work in the US or Canada and no strong accent. Native speaker. Bachelors Degree. Pretty simple.

Take some asNope and sell it online for 20 bucks a pump.

A couple years ago I did audio transcription for Speechpad through MTurk (no longer accepting new regs, last I heard)

It was mostly insurance interviews (car accidents). Paid about $6/hour, once you get your speed up.

There was plenty of work. But it's pretty mundane job.

I'm not sure what it's like, nowadays.

Next- Unless Paxful has finally clamped down on AML/KYC laws, the "wild west" that it is (due to rampant scammers)- actually leaves a barrier to entry (you have to be 'street smart'), and I can tell you there is opportunity there (or was last year when I was active).

Here's another kind of interesting niche..

You know all those Indian MTurk workers who forced Amazon to close registrations?
They all get paid in Amazon Giftcards. Which they want to convert to cash.

Not only them... there's a general large demand for liquidating Amazon GC's, simply because Amzn prohibits it.

Anyway.. Purse.io matches "people who want to buy stuff" with "people who want to liquidate gift cards" ... and runs a business on the spread.

Now if you go to Craigslist you will see ads for people buying giftcards.. contact the buyers... you will find Amazon GC's usually sell for ~60% of face value. (last I checked)

Meanwhile on Purse.. you typically earn 80-90% of face value back from the card. Now you know how to undercut the Craigslist buyers.

What's the barrier to entry? It's a very tricky platform, and you can get your Amazon account locked if you're not careful.

A more robust "variant" on the above-

I know of someone who learned coinage / coin appraisal (a complex 'science' FWIU).
So they pickup Amazon gift cards on Craigslist for ~60%. Then buy coins from 3rd party sellers on Amazon that they know (based on their knowledge) can be liquidated at >60% of their cost.

I did a few 'case studies' last year, and found there does seem to be opportunities for that.

The problem is when anything becomes too widely-known, the laws of the Free Market ensure that it disappears, eventually.

So, yeah... It starts $14-$18 per hour. With Bachelors. They don't pay anyone under $14 per hour.

I don't know what Mr. Canada's issue here is, but, if anyone wants a decent online Job early mornings, check it out. It's legitimate. been around for years. MINIMUM of $14 per hour.

That's base pay + $1 extra per hour if you are never late. $1 extra per hour if you do more than 40 hours per month. So, if you start at $14, you make $16 per hour by doing this. Start at $18, you make $20 per hour.

It's a good opportunity and resource, and, I don't know what CAnada's issue is.

Their own site states maximum possible earning is $22/hr.


And if you google salary and former employee reviews (from actual individuals posting what they actually earned vs. what the company promised they could earn) which is drastically different. And go to the various online forums and discussion boards where former employees are, you'll see a totally different side to the work and earning potential.

Your links from Indeed and vipkidreviews are phony salary amounts stated by the company's marketing department and do not correlate to what people said they earned or could earn because it requires bookings and time slot availability's, and status levels, which arent open to everyone.

For the LOVE OF GOD. I just did coffee this afternoon with two women that work there- one has for 3 and a half years. She is here for a year for her family to experience something new. Her husband took the year off to explore nature with her family. She is single-handedly maintaining their home. She makes closer to 25 per hour, but has been there for a long time.

Again, you clearly don't know how this works. PArents choose their kid's teachers. Yes. Men are preferred over women. White over black. Blondes over brunettes. If the parents don't choose you, yeah. You don't get bookings. But, there are tons of ways to make your video standout (how you are chosen) and extra classes you can attend to be 'featured' by the company.

The company matches new teachers with trial students- kids that don't have a teacher and are just trying it out- the teacher gets her class rate plus an additional $5 if the kid signs up. This is how many teachers get their kids, because, parents just keep the same teacher. That's what a 'booking' is. And, it is clearly available to all.

Time slot availability - uh, yeah. The kids study after school which corresponds to being 4-8 Am here. That is the time slot, and, yes, its open if you are able to get your butt out of bed and teach those hours.

Status levels? LOL. Referring to the ages one is certified to teach. You certify for different grades. You can't 'fail' an age. You can re-take the teaching until you pass..... So, yes, also available to everyone...
