The ancient mounds of Cahokia constitute the largest earthworks in the Western hemisphere
You'd think something this hard to miss would be easier to figure out.

Some serious planning went into this monument. Not unlike the planning for all megaliths.

"Its foundation was 20 feet high, a rectangular platform of gumbo clay roughly 1,000 feet long and 800 feet wide at the base. By itself, the clay would have been worse than no foundation at all--it shrinks and cracks if allowed to dry out. So the engineer found a way to keep it constantly wet. He had buttresses built at the north and south ends, and filled the space between them with another 40 feet of clay and coarser dirt, layered so as to draw water up from below by capillary action. In the Mississippi River floodplain, where the water table was always high, this would keep the clay foundation saturated and solid. For this process to work, the whole thing had to be planned out ahead of time, and the first 60 feet had to go up right away, says soil chemist, geographer, and archaeologist William Woods of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. "They had to see the end product before they began."

Building the structure required 15 million 50-pound baskets of earth--each one dug elsewhere with stone tools, carried on someone's back to the site, emptied, and tamped into place. In all probability, those who built it had many intertwined motives. They built it for religious reasons--to bring the lower world (earth, water, death) together with the upper world (sky, fire, life). They built it for political reasons--to curry favor with their leader, who was probably known as the Brother of the Sun. And they built it for social reasons--to honor their own kin and join with others in a worthy task, a task that must have combined elements of cheering the Bulls, going on pilgrimage to Mecca, and witnessing the Incarnation."

Don't agree with everything in this article. However it's more than apparent that the planning alone for our planets archaic megalithic monuments tells us they weren't built by who academics tell us and that's just from the planning stage - the construction of the monuments are more evidence to the academics contrary.

At Tiwanaku and Pumapunku the indigenous had no writing skills with which to plan with.

My opinion is that aliens didn't help or build them either. What are your thoughts?

Re: The ancient mounds of Cahokia constitute the largest earthworks in the Western hemisphere
As we can see from the article Monk's Mound has been inspected by our modern day soil chemist, geographer and archaeologist and determined that some significant engineering went into this structure.

Not only that ..
someone had to know some advanced skills on geology, hydraulics, water tables, sediments and long term erosional effects before ever drawing a ground plan design.
Then once the design was ready they created a geometric design that incorporates solar and lunar activities over long time counts.

Why?

Ohio has awesome mounds. Thanks Beeches. About 200,000 total in North America at one time

There are two in particular. The great octagon and circle at Newark (on the golf course) and another at High Banks.

Basically they are the same design created 90 degrees apart on so that they can accurately site lunar and solar activities at different latitudes (where they are physically). High Banks has a larger circle.

Newark octagon and circle is very fascinating. The octagon has 8 mounds inside at the internal angles (which are 135 degrees each). The circle could be folded over and rest on the 8 mounds..circling the octagon.

So it utilizes among other things 8 and 13, just as the Great Pyramid at Giza does with its 8 sides built on 13.1 acres and 481 feet high - 4+8+1=13.

Olmec Heads in Mexico

Who made these?
All seventeen of the confirmed heads in the Olmec heartland were sculpted from basalt mined in the Sierra de los Tuxtlas mountains of Veracruz.

It was noted that these heads were African in origin, however they are indeed, asianatic, native american and caucasion - the 4 races of earth.

17 heads - 17 platforms at Tetihuacan's Moon pyramid complex - 17 planets and moons.

Ancient Hindu statue in South America's San Augustin in Columbia.
Why does the New World have this knowledge?

North America is home to at least 31 serpent effigy's with the Great Serpent Mound of Ohio the largest.
There are also many awesome serpent petroglyphs with perhaps my favorite near Moab Utah known as Solstice Snake. On summer solstice an arrowhead of sunlight covers the serpents head from a rock configuration high above on canyon - that's some great engineering.
For those of you who've read my comments elsewhere the serpent and the sun are synonymous with a cataclysmic event in our past and future and why these 2 are seen all over the planet - dragon in the east; serpent in the west.

When I read about these structures, I think about God telling the first humans that the celestial cycles would be for signs and discerning seasons. Certain men must have applied themselves to discerning these signs (shamans, astronomers, etc). They must have then influenced leaders to build these structures for the purpose of huge celestial clocks for planting, harvesting, divining, etc.

Genesis does say that the first humans were field workers and Enoch lays out the solar year for planting and harvesting in his enigmatic story.

7th seed from Adam
Paused at age 30
First Child at 60
Walked with God at 300
Was taken at age 365

7 days in a week
30 days in a month
60 days after the first of the year is when we plant seeds
300 days after the first of the year we harvest
365 days is the last day of the year and it starts over

Enoch also wrote a Book of Giants which I'll get into a little bit here on the next post.

Not physical giants like 15 - 25 feet. More like 9 which is very tall - a full 3 feet over what we consider tall today.

Giants and Mound building next...

Re: The ancient mounds of Cahokia constitute the largest earthworks in the Western hemisphere
There are a couple ways to describe this.

First off, as we see with Cahokia in the OP, it had to be very well planned as all megaliths are. The clay they used makes a poor base because it will dry out and then crack and shrink. But they obviously had advanced hydrology knowledge of large river basins and advanced engineering to keep the base from drying out.

Great Pyramid of Giza, Stonehenge, Angkor Wat, Serpent Mound, Teotihuacan, Chichen Itza, Sacsayhuaman, Ollyantaytambo, Machu Picchu, and many more all extremely well planned out before the first stone or earth was laid.

Then they proceeded to build a structure with advanced math and sacred geometry. They also matched layouts to Orions belt stars in more than a couple locations and tracked our sun and moon over long periods of time..

At Chichen Itza the Kukulkan Temple pyramid sits on top of a cenote. The builders placed a basketball court size slab of limestone over the hole that is 13 feet thick.

But why? Why take so much care, effort and planning to built something deep in antiquity with little to no writing. Symbols, math and astronomy seems to be the preferred language and what a language; transcending time and nations individual languages today.

The truth is there was a cataclysm in our inner solar system that stranded about 200 of the 5th planet (asteroid belt location) survivors here.

To be remembered they erected the first set of Great Megaliths. They also passed their DNA to Earth's original specie (we were made in THEIR image), which was 2 types of Blacks - the ensuing results created our races. After the Deluge it was Earth's humans turn. The men of old and renown - The Tribe of Dan came out of pockets of survival (The is no out of Africa or Australia) to build the next rounds of archaic monuments - smaller but no less important. The people who survived the Deluge came out of pockets of survival and started civilization over.

Science is figuring out what we have based on over 40 years of exhaustive study into many disciplines along with the archaic monuments themselves.. Here's an article recently released on ancient DNA rewriting prehistory in India which gets around to the 'Tribe of Dan' and 'out of pockets of survival' mentality. Enjoy.

Re: The ancient mounds of Cahokia constitute the largest earthworks in the Western hemisphere
Re-Henging Babel On's Language

The layman's code uncovered and revealed leads to a higher understanding of Math, Geometry and the Stars.

It's often stated the Great Pyramid is built encoding Phi and Pi math systems. Giza's Great Pyramid is built with 8 sides..Pi is 3.14 and also adds to 8 as in 3+1+4=8.. which 8 is Infinity, as is Pi.

13 is a Prime Number and the only number Pi breaks down to within itself, and why the Great Pyramid's footprint is 13 acres and it's created 481 foot height. Also 8 Miles Imperial equals 13 Metric Kilometres, which helps to understand Astronomical Unit values. (AU).

According to Dr. Chuck Missler's research regarding Stonehenge; multiplying the 30 'outer trilithon stones by their height' unmistakably gives you the exact height of the Great Pyramid.

By applying the geometry from the pyramid's orientation, which is 360-tieth of a degree from true-North, pursues the knowledge of applying the 360 degree circle-ratio directly to the pyramid's Square-base connecting the geometry method of 'Circling the Square'.

Giza's enigmatic square-base sanctuary of Sacred Geometry calculates a specific message including the magical mystifying number 137, and Giza just happens to be located 3600 Kilometres from the epic Stonehenge - a circular constructed megalith.

The 3600 Kilometre distance is a ratio to 360 degrees and what we see Stonehenge to be.

Gary Osborn's Giza research revealed the sacred mysterious number 137, a number given to a specific geomatrix.

"From physics, mathematics and science, to mysticism, occultism, the Kabbalah and the Torah, the number 137 may just be the most magical and important number in the universe.
What's the key to unlocking the mysteries of the universe?
It might just be the number 137.
Those three digits, as it turns out, have long been the rare object of fascination that bridges the gulf between science and mysticism."
"137 continues to fire the imagination of everyone from scientists and mystics to occultists and people from the far-flung edges of society,"
Arthur I. Miller, an emeritus professor of history and philosophy of science at University College London and author of the 2009 book "137: Jung, Pauli and the Pursuit of a Scientific Obsession," says via email."

[link to science.howstuffworks.com (secure)]

Although Stonehenge itself sanctifies the laymans Codex 13 as well proving it to be an archaic monument in corroboration with the Great Pyramid, it uniquely refers back to the Great Pyramid in a numbered language also exclaiming knowledge of the Great Pyramid's geo-coordinates and the mysterious revered number 137.

Stonehenge is created with 75 trilithon stones, 1 Sun-stone and 95 Bluestones.
The bluestones estimate at 13 feet tall.

The Sunstone also known as 'the Friar's Heel' is 4.9 metres tall. [4+9=13]

75 trilithon stones plus the Sun-stone trilithon equal 76. [7+6=13]

The following regarding Stonehenge's connection to Giza's Great Pyramid is from ancient-wisdom.com.

"The 'Station-stone-rectangle' has a perimeter the same length as one side of Giza's Great Pyramid.

The angle created by connecting the rectangle's hypotenuse, is at an angle of 118° degrees, which has been noted as the same azimuth one would follow to reach Giza in Egypt.

This remarkable astronomical fact sanctifies that the mathematical peculiarity of the Stonehenge 'Station-stones' having proportions that mirrors the latitude of the site, is only surpassed by the fact that both the Sun and the Moon (at their respective maximum settings) rise at approximately the same point on the horizon from the site, which is also mirrored in the latitude of 51° 51'. (Great Pyramid's - Side Slope Angle)

21,600 degrees which is the precise fractal of the number of miles of the circumference of the Nautical Earth wherein every degree equals to 60 miles

and 360 degrees * 60 Nautical Miles = 21,600 Nautical Miles * 6072 feet in a Nautical Mile = 131,155,200 feet / 5,280

(Number of Feet in a Statute Mile or Imperial Mile) = 24,840 Imperial Miles which is the mean circumference of the earth in Statute Miles."

131,155,200 feet is Earth's Nautical distance and why this codex includes the Great Pyramid's 13.1 acre base footprint and Stonehenge's megalithic circle, both of which are re-henging a monumental message in megalithic stone.

The coordinates of Stonehenge reflect an exact knowledge of the Great Pyramid's location upon our planet.

Stonehenge's recorded Latitude locates the Great Pyramid at 51.1.43/84 which incidentally is both the Great Pyramid's Southern slope angle of 51.43 and Northern slope angle of 51.84 degrees.

In concordance with the Great Pyramid's numbers computing astrological implications of centering on the Grand Gallery which reveals to us the equation of the Speed of Light in a vacuum, Stonehenge likewise explains our Earth and Sun positioning by using it's geo-coordinates as well.

"The average distance between the Earth and the Sun depends upon the Aphelion and Perihelion distances since the Earth has an elliptical Orbit around the Sun from one of the Focal Points of the Ellipse. At the point of Aphelion (the furthest point from the Sun) the Earth has a distance of 152.097,701 km from the Sun and at Perihelion (the closest point to the Sun) the Earth has a distance of 147,098,074 km from the Sun."

The average between these distances is 149,597,887.5 km. The recorded 149,597,88.5km is the average Sun to Earth distance which equals Stonehenge's Longitude Geo-Coordinates of 1.49'34.28. 1 degree, 49 minutes and 34.28 arc seconds W Longitude.

Stonehenge's circle babels on and on with the top of the lintels created at 4.9 metres (4+9=13) above the ground.

Within this circle stood five trilithons of dressed sarsen stone arranged in a 'Horseshoe' shape 13.7 metres across, with its open-end facing North-East.

With both sites imploring astronomical values, should it be a coincidence Stonehenge and the Great Pyramid both face North-East?

Understanding Stonehenge's tallest stones arraigns the mystic number of 137 unequivocally suggesting the builders understood the importance of 137 reflecting it's astronomical and scientific applications.

The number 1/137.035 combines several constants from nature, including the charge on a single electron, the Speed of Light, and also Planck’s constant.

According to scientist Michael Brooks, “..the number determines how stars burn, how chemistry happens, and even whether atoms exist at all.”

From physics, mathematics and science, to mysticism, occultism, 137 suggest it may very well be the key to finding the Grand Unified Theory.

THE FINE-STRUCTURE CONSTANT

To physicists, 137 is the approximate denominator of the fine-structure constant (1/137.03599913), the measure of the strength of the electromagnetic force that controls how charged elementary particles such as the electron and muon interact with photons of light, according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

THE FINE-STRUCTURE CONSTANT IS ONE OF THE KEY PHYSICAL CONSTANTS OF THE UNIVERSE.
"This immutable number determines how stars burn, how chemistry happens and even whether atoms exist at all," Michael Brooks explained in a recent New Scientist article.

"The fine-structure constant "characterizes the strength with which matter couples to light, e.g. the probability that an excited atom will decay in a certain time," Paul Davies, Regents Professor of Physics at Arizona State University and a best-selling author of 30 books on science, explains in an email. If the constant was bigger, "atoms would decay faster. It is significant too because it is a pure number – a ratio of quantities with equal units. Unlike, say, the speed of light, which is either 186,000 miles per second or 300,000 kilometers per second, depending on which units you prefer." (Fine-structure constant submitted to Cosmos by Davies 2016)

Rehenging Stonehenge's unique reference to Codex 13, Giza's Great Pyramid and the mysterious astronomical number 137 computes a past advanced history known today as Babylon who left their footprint of a prior truly historic one world language.

As this Codex continues to babel on from archaic monument to archaic monument, we are aware and privileged to speak across time with our epic ancients in a way only modern technology can provide, gifted as our birthright as we, the god's offspring, return to time at the foot of a tower to Babel.

1 Maccabees 13:28–38
He also erected seven pyramids, opposite one another, for his father and mother and four brothers. For the pyramids he devised an elaborate setting, erecting about them great columns, and on the columns he put suits of armor for a permanent memorial, and beside the suits of armor he carved ships, so that they could be seen by all who sail the sea. This is the tomb that he built in Modein; it remains to this day.

Peru: mysteries in stone work history

The last Conquistador chronicler who was of the first to conquer the Inca wrote the following about the Incan Sovereigns:

"We found these states in a very good condition. The mentioned Incans were governing them so wisely that among these people there were no thieves, neither vicious men nor unfaithful wives, no immoral people. Everyone had there honest and useful professions. They knew no crime or execution. Everyone owned their own property and not a single other person would claim it. What urges me to write about this now is my consciousness, I feel guilty. We've destroyed all this by our vicious and mean example. We've eliminated the nation that had such sovereigns and was so happy."

West Virginia is an interesting state as far as prehistory goes. Mysterious stone wall forts and compounds on top of mountains, hundreds of mounds, some quite large and of importance. One of those mounds contained three skeletons, all over 8 feet in length with red hair and two rows of teeth. A field worker digging uncovered a near 10 foot skeleton. Also in WV.

Thanks for sharing. The largest measured and verified skeletal remain is 9 feet 4 inches.

Interestingly, Enoch stated the giants were 3000 ells. If we take that to be a metric in measurement of millimeters, then 3000 millimeters is approx 9 feet 8 inches. Coincidence? probably not.

Re: The ancient mounds of Cahokia constitute the largest earthworks in the Western hemisphere
Ice Age Food for Thought

Ice, Ice baby..

With modern geological evidence provided in knowledge to our planet, in clarification to research that states Earth's global archaic monuments were built at the end of the last ice-age; would it not make sense if that were true, civilization would not have lost the technology used to create these megalithic wonders and we would have only grown with it as a tool to advance?

There is no recorded evidence of a global catastrophe since the Ice-age. True there has been recorded devastation, but they were localized to specific locales, and not global.
It stands to reason if a sector of survivors travelling the globe after an Earth shattering catastrophe, creating monuments, would definitely have passed on the technological prowess and knowledge of the construction basis used in the various build procedures and possibly in certain cases, various advanced tools.

And yet, we have no verified answers revealing this as so in archaeology.

So what happened..?

Re: The ancient mounds of Cahokia constitute the largest earthworks in the Western hemisphere
One of my old neighbors who lived about 10 minutes from the Mounds was putting a deck off the back of their house. They were digging holes to pour the concrete support forms and found a skeleton. They called the police and the crime lab people were sent out. They found out the skeleton matched those found at the Mounds. We were blown away.

The museum at the Mounds is fantastic. Definitely worth a stop and look. Hiking to the top is worth it.

The problem is that the area/park/mounds is/are surrounded by some the worst areas in the country--Washington Park, Sauget, E. St. Louis, and Fairmont City. Incredibly bad, violent places, so if you take a wrong turn, and I'm not exaggerating--you can be carjacked, robbed, or end up dead. It's like a war zone around there. Horrible gangs. It's really a shame. There are literally smaller mounds surrounded by trailers, abandoned cars, abandoned buildings, etc.

It is an incredible archeological find and very underrated.
