The following Monday, I'm flying out of California. I can't in good conscience support this system.
Highest taxes in the nation. They just added 6¢ to gas, calling it "freedom tax". Freedom Tax! Illegals will get free health care, while I will pay for it for not being able to afford health care.
Costs of living in insane. My brother rents a bunk bed with five other dudes to a room for $600/month. I can't live on my own for anything less than $1500.
You don't hear English anymore. I wish I was joking about this. No matter where I go, no one speaks English. Every conversation is in a different language.
I grew up in Orange County and had a wonderful childhood. Now I feel out of place and can't wait to leave.

I have an 18 yr old car I just had to pay 220 to register. Buying a home - anything less than 400k is a fixer upper. Now they want to teach kindergarteners a dozen different genders - I want to leave so badly, but getting my husband to leave all his contacts and friends, he just won’t do it. Hate to say but I consider leaving without him- about that earthquake, we read from USGS to expect an 8 in the next week. I remember Northridge- if you live here - water, batteries, first aid, generator if you can. Kudos to those of you who have left - the nice weather is just not worth the cost anymore.
