Salvation, while not easy, is not hard either.

You made the first step ....

The ABCs of Salvation.

A - admit your are sinner in need of The Savior. You have done this. With sincerity, apologize to Father of all your sins (past, present, and future*)

Now, to the next steps ....

B - with your heart, genuinely, believe that Jesus died, was buried, and was resurrected on the 3rd day, as per prophecy. Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 .... THIS is the Gospel. By believing in this, you are acknowledging the Divinity of Jesus. The nano second you believed, you became a part of the Family. AND, you can NOT lose your salvation.

Romans 1:16
For I am no ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to ever one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

C - Call on the name of Jesus. No man comes to the Father, but through Me. Talk to Jesus. Pour out your fears, frustrations, concerns, joys, etc.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

You are not saved by anything you do (ie, brownie points) and you are not kept saved by anything you do. However, you are saved to do good works as part of your reasonable service ... ie, being there for others, volunteering, little things, big things.

Now the next thing is to (and you know this one) ... get into the Word of God. The more you study the Bible, the less you want to do the harmful things that plagued your now-previous life. Follow men like Robert Breaker, Gene Kim, Tim Henderson on YouTube. Get on the Bible Bus with J. Vernon McGee (passed away, but is an active current ministry - ttb.org)

* You are no in perfect position to the Holy God. Your salvation can never be taken away (many verses to support this). And FYI - through the above men and study, you will learn that the abominable sin could only be committed by the Jews, not Christians. But you are not in perfect performance ... you are still a carnal human ... you will sin. Just keep going! God is with YOU!
