Dramatic video footage taken by a passenger on board a Baltimore-bound flight Monday showed a loose spinner rattling in one of the engines before the plane was forced into an emergency landing. Delta's Flight 1425 – a 32-year-old MD-88 – left Hartsfield-Jackson International Baltimore-Washington International around 12:48 Monday. About an hour into the flight, passengers said they heard a loud boom followed by smoke billowing into the cabin. [ link to www.foxnews.com (secure)] And this is why I refuse to fly. Security garbage aside, these plans are old, not very well maintained and literally falling apart. Delta = Death I took a Delta flight of hell 15 years ago and vowed never again to fly with them.... I tranferred planes because the one I got on had problems so we switch to another plane and when they open the door it fell on the ground. The people we were with said HELL NAW we aint getting on that plane. The Delta people looks liked they looked embarrased. A 7 hour flight turned to a 12 hour craziness.... We did get on plane after that worked but I was freaked out and decided never again to fly with them.... Here's my airline story: Four years ago I flew from California to New England. While stopping at Phoenix they tried to load food into the airplane. They put the food cart on a hydraulic lift but it got caught on the plane door 15 feet into the air. It bent the fucking door! The door would not shut close and the light would stay on telling the pilot one of his doors are open. We were stranded there for 5 hours. I missed my transfer flight and had to spend the night in Philly. The Knee-grow woman at the desk tried to send me to a hotel in downtown Philly at 1am in the night knowing full well I would get mugged. Luckily her friend gave me a room at the Hilton inside the airport. I would have been killed walking around Philly at that time of night. The black new that too. I don't fly anymore. Dang!
