Re: who here doesn't have a TV?
TV means what.

most boxes for flat screens today say TV on the box.

do you mean Cable? Dish....Netflix....Amazon....the internet????

sorry you have not been TV free.....today the internet, that is now your TV

count your smartphone too.
 Quoting: psyoptics

Yep, redbox and amazon are my cable replacements, but doesn't make it TV. TV was standalone and expensive.
When the internet matured, I ditched both the TV and the landline phone, replaced mail with email and saved me a ton.

I have a TV but no cable or Netflix. I get about 40 broadcast channels for free. I usually watch Hero's and Icons, Charge or Movies.

I heard TVs are bad so now I just watch all the shows on my computer, phone or other mobile devices.

I’m so much better than those low-class tv watchers!

I have two 55" teevees. Both wall mounted. The living room has a JBL 3.1 sound bar. Both have ROKUs.

Why? I stream concerts and music to the Living room set, and weather nation on the bedroom set.

Other than that, I don't watch any "program scheduled" TeeVee.

I’m paranoid about being spied on by a smart tv. Finding a dumb tv is hard, so I don’t have one yet. I’d really like an he dumb tv for streaming and watching dvds. I might end up just buying a computer monitor.

It makes you wonder who gave the order to eliminate traditional US television shows, and to mostly just push leftist control-propaganda on the airwaves.

Who controls television programming?

Hey Grey E,

Look at the posts following the original one of mine you quoted, check
out the threads beeches linked, and look up "Rural Purge".

There you will find the answer.
It was the beginning of the leftist take over of television.

I haven’t owned a tv since 2009. Even when I had one I rarely watched it. Even as a kid a rarely watched tv. I remember in elementary school kids talking about crap like the Cosby show and I could not relate because I didn’t watch tv. I have always found watching tv or movies to be boring.

Re: who here doesn't have a TV?
I have one that hopefully will last forever. It cost 140 bucks from Walmart, has a name I can't pronounce but looks as good as the 4k crap. It will never be hooked up to network broadcasts, only movies and old videogames.

I had television for 6 months in a place i was staying and 6 months caught me up for the decade. I saw every episode of anything I've wanted to see in the past decade, aired over and over.

People are watching absolute garbage, or reruns of mediocre crap. Then they don't have room for any more input. Thats my takeaway. People who watch TV have automatically put themselves into the stupid category.

2003 .../cut the cable. Movies turned to shit, shows turned to shit, news went fake. Even weather channel is fake

Only good for some football games and maybe boxing / NASCAR. Go elsewhere for that.

Re: who here doesn't have a TV?
If you think television is for "entertainment", you're still brainwashed. TV is a mind control weapon, TPTB's prime social engineering platform.

Look at the many threads there have been on GLP, for example, about Game of Thrones. I've never seen it, but many posters mentioned how many portrayals of incest there were on that show. Guess what? TPTB are normalizing incest and, if you watch a show like that, you're participating.

I haven't owned a TV in more than 10 years and I never will again.

I dropped all access TV about 11 years ago and don't miss it. I tend to read more now for entertainment. I still have 4 TV's in the house and we can watch stream stuff but nobody in the house likes anything that is out there. Youtube is mostly what gets watched in our house.

Re: who here doesn't have a TV?
I had a little one.

Through a very depressed stage I did early morning yoga with Colorado pbs. I could pick it up over the air.

Then I watched Monk and then I watched videos from the public library—Shakespeare. Mel Gibson as hamlet. Glenn close fascinating as his mother. Zefferillis now tattered Romeo and Juliet.

Then I left it at the dumpster with a note that it worked fine.

Then I was in a Colorado psychiatric hospital listening in on a conversation between two young men. Young men fascinate me. I raised one. Psychiatric patients fascinate me too. These two were talking about Justin Bieber.

Chef food and service work had fucked my hormones so I visited lots of psychiatric hospitals with police telling me to go demand help and social workers exacting their revenge for their sad lives. I’d love to see the bills. Taxpayers spent more on obstruction than actual help.

Every weekend the young people filed in. The television watchers were the lost. You could tell.

I still get depressed in July if I’m not careful.

Young men usually have their own subversive subculture stuff to talk about.
When I was a teenager boys were fascinated with frank zappa or Carlos Santana. I was a young volunteer teacher on a city bus listening to a young man telling me he worked in a book bindery—in retrospect working life sent him into existential despair—and Carlos Santana was all he had to hold onto. He was almost frantic in the way he spoke but he had Santana.

Two high school or college men talking about Justin Bieber just haunts me.

But skater kids give me hope!

I have a TV. It's a Toshiba color TV I bought almost 40 years ago. I haven't watched any TV to speak of in about 5 or 6 years. There is a fine line between TV and internet.
