who here doesn't have a TV?

We stopped having T.V. programming around the time they went from analog to digital and 'the box' became necessary. We have a T.V. for watching movies, but nothing else. We've never looked back!

i've been tv-free for more than a decade, and i love it!
when i used to have one, it was almost an automatic response to come home and plant myself in front of it, even though there was mostly just bullshit showing.

ok, i have a computer (obviously) and can watch things on my laptop, if i want to. but, i don't have any network television access, and i really like it this way.

it has allowed me a lot more time for things like reading or doing things that seem a lot more beneficial for me than zoning out in front of a propaganda box...

it also seems that not having a tv has allowed me to see through a lot more of the bullshit and "programming".

i would assume, since this is glp, that i'm not alone. how many of you threw away your tv? and, if so, what are the positives you've encountered? negatives?

Ben clean and very sober for 16 years cant stand TV,cant stand the people that are abscessed..with TV. I read, listen to music(last count had 167344 songs) 456 audio books and a hard drive full of old movies. if there IS something i want to watch its pirate bay for me(and the software to make it safe) it's download and watch and delete.

I have a television, but I haven't had cable for maybe 5 years now. Possibly longer, I don't remember. I can only watch DVDs on my TV.

glp is my number one news source. if i want to watch a movie, i download it and watch it on my laptop. i always have to laugh when i have guests and they ask, where's your tv?
