Frightening.
I recall that show years ago where they played those types of 911 calls.
And I remember more then once the dispatcher asking if the homeowner was armed when they said yes, then the focused on getting that homeowner to drop the weapon because “officers were on the way” I remember being astounded hearing that.
An intruder in the home, the person hiding in dispatchers would ask them to drop the weapon, cops weren’t even there yet.
Thank goodness this turned out better.
Hope they do a follow up report.
Quoting: Only Original Documents I had a similar situation once. I told the dispatcher to tell me when the officers arrive, and are getting out of their care. Then, and only then, will I put away my weapon. In my situation, the assholes were still outside, slashing screens. The police arriving scared them away. I was 19 years old, home alone, and terrified. Quoting: DEPLORABLE Lady Jayne Smith Same situation for me. Home alone, had a loaded gun and someone was outside banging on my windows trying to get in. Dispatcher had me stay on the phone the whole time. Then started asking me if I was armed, but this was after I had seen that show many times - plus in California. No way in hell I was going to say I was sitting inside with a loaded gun. Like you, the cops arriving - finally - scared whoever they were away.
