Homeowner Shoots Intruder While Waiting for Police

Another idiot dispatcher asking the caller what color their house is and how many cars in the driveway. With today's GPS and phone tracing that dispatcher should know exactly where the call is coming from.

Don't trust authority figures. If the dispatcher says "stay on the line with me"...fuck her...do what you need to do. In this case that guy should have hung up the phone and shoot the robber.

My favorite shows are Forensic Files and The New Detectives. I can not tell you how many times an intruder has followed a phone conversation to a closet, opened the closet and killed the homeowner. It happens many times.

Also...one other thing I've noticed on these shows. Robbers break in wanting to steal only, but if you leave a butcher knife on the kitchen counter top the thief will grab it and kill you with it. Many thieves don't come armed. But if they see a large knife in the kitchen they most likely will stab you with it.

Want to stay safe? Lock your doors, fence in your yard, have a dog or two. With the dog house right out front. Put signs on your fence to...Keep Out, Beware of the Dog.

I had a similar situation once. I told the dispatcher to tell me when the officers arrive, and are getting out of their care. Then, and only then, will I put away my weapon.

In my situation, the assholes were still outside, slashing screens. The police arriving scared them away. I was 19 years old, home alone, and terrified.

The suspect was 29 years old. You have to watch out for 29 year olds, they are very dangerous.

if you reside in a free state you have the authority under theee law to use deadly force to protect self,property etc so this individual needed to confront the break in before it escalated to an illegal entry and contacting 911 w/the simple statement OF I AM IN FEAR FOR MY LIFE AM ARMED AND WILL SHOOT THEM DEAD and not be begging dispatch to do something.
any intruders win the coveted Darwin award & most know IT.

witnessing a break in at a neighbors house ?
what'd HE tell the dispatch ?
gave a situation report AND I'm gonna SHOOT THEM,he did.. and the investigation and trial led to NO conviction.
HE did warn them,they didn't listen,kept going in and out so he shot them as the police were taking too long==and was on the line w/911 throughout.
IF you have a firearm,know the law,get training,keep your training and either USE IT or hide in a closet cornered like a rat.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away....

Personally I think it would be easy. If you killed someone like that you did the world a favor.

It would not be easy for most people to move on after killing another person. It would be a very difficult thing to get over. I have given this a lot of thought, and I know it would tear my guts out, for a few days, but I would get over it, knowing that what I did was the right thing to do. It is not something I want to do, but I could if the need arose.
