Mark is definitely gay. He plays the female role. He is worried about his looks to an obsessive degree. He thinks medicine is advanced, because he works in that profession.
I have never encountered even a marginally competent doctor.
I am sickened by most everything in this post. I would like to implement socialized medicine immediately to remove people like Mark from profiting from illness.
I admire Cuba immensely in healthcare. Medical training should be free and so should medical care. Anything else is loathsome. Healthcare in the U.S. is a farce put on by big Pharma. Diseases are not cured because that is not profitable.
Mark can criticize everything that does not expose his predatory capitalist existence.
Life is just so unbearable in the U.S. because of all these fucking predators. Doctors are the worst. They are worse than lawyers, because their patients are all so vulnerable. It is so horrifying.
As far as the Internet, the very best thing going is GLP. How sick and sad is that? Those of us who want to uncover the truth are constantly undermined by government shills and megaphoneys. The people who used to post amazing revelations here no longer do so because of the retarded opposition.
We never went to the f-ing moon. A real nation would go to the moon to establish a base from which to launch expeditions to Mars and beyond. A fake nation like the U.S. pretended to go to the moon to stick its tongue out at the U.S.S.R.

I personally believe that in the future, the last 60 years or so will be regarded as a "technological dark age". Now, I know that sounds ridiculous, especially as I sit here typing this on a computer looking out of the window at my super efficient car parked out on the road, but the real technologies - the show stoppers - appear to have been repressed and pushed aside. They appear to be in the control of the few for what can only been seen as ignorant short term personal profit, or power lusting ("he who controls the technology, controls the world").

I find it unbelievable that we have yet to tap into the vacuum, or that we are still unable to perform routine and affordable space flight, for example. I just don't buy it. On the contrary, history shows that if we really want to do something, we can, and NOTHING will stop us. Where there is motivation and money anything is possible, and there is plenty of both of those things in our country's respective militaries.

These people need to ask themselves if the perceived standing of their country in in the "hierarchy" of the world is more important than just... letting go, letting the information flow, and letting us truly be free. Only then, will we step out from this, ironically, very dark informational and technological time.

Well chosen words to describe how I feel too! It's ridiculous and it bothers me extremely how the politicians and legislators control by means of not permitting new technologies to get R&D funds, so that it becomes mainstream. They only permit something when the fascist corporate officers/shareholders ask for it. It seems to me the people have very little to say when it comes to new technology, and everything else as well. It saddens me truly.. that we as a people cannot agree on at least that, and stand up as one to fight megalomaniacs who are bent on literally taking over the world.. whether it be directly through military/policing actions, or through economics.

The FDA for example regulates new medicine.. in a very incorrect and corrupt way, because there are medications for depression for example that can be extremely beneficial to people suffering from debilitating depression, yet having tried nearly all the drugs currently available - none of them working. Drug resistant depression patients need new, experimental drugs. Also ones which are TRULY researched for use to treat depression. The pharmaceutical companies are to blame for that one.

Tesla was for real. You degree in physics and electronics does not mean a BS.

I fail to understand why anyone would want to stay in this prison kindergarten (which is what this 3D world is) beyond their years of usefulness. To extend life in a body or brain eaten by disease just so that you can live a few more days or a few more years is ridiculous. When I can no longer be of service, I'm out of here, like gone.

To leave this body is to graduate, to be liberated, to become free to explore the universe, to go and do things that are not possible when imprisoned in a body which has 5/6 of its DNA turned off.

I think the answer to the question you pose has to do with money and making everyone happy. I don't think we have as many 'pure research' facilities as we used to have - Pure R&D doesn't exist the way it did, say, in the 60's. We now answer to shareholders and accountants...this trickles down the line...Why spend billions on better tires when the ones we have are cheap and profitable?

H2O ..... I'm one of those pre-depression babies who lived through it also.
Dirt roads were dusty, but Dad bought 5 GALLONS of gas for a DOLLAR. Mom WAS home baking and we DIDN'T lock our doors at night. My uncles brought us reject boxes of ammo from Remington Arms when they came for an overnight/early morning hunting expedition ( hunting WAS for food, NOT sport, as we ATE what we killed ). Generally was printing on the box that made them rejects and it wasn't worth it to repackage.
Everyone with even an acre of land had a garden, and 4-H clubs were in vogue. People shared there skills and helped one another. NOT the rich ! This IS coming again and I mean this year. Only this time, we DON'T have the gardens, there are few forests to hunt in, the doors ARE locked, few even KNOW their neighbors, the country is BROKE and OWNED by foreign banksters, the FIAT money IS worthless and they have even stolen the copper from our pennies. Politicians overlook NOTHING of value, except their souls !

Just one who has lived a modest life for almost eighty years, and was PROUD to say I was the son of ...., a carpenter, in my small town of 3000, pre 1940. OP is posing, he made all of the personal stuff up.

First, a doctor would know when to use "its" rather than "it's" and "lose" rather than "loose."

Second, he says he can barely afford to put his kid through school, yet he is building a fantastic mansion in the expensive NYC area.

Third, he says he will not have much to leave to his grandkids when he dies, but that big house and the land it's on will be a substantial inheritance for his devisees.

I think this whole thing is a just a nice story that the OP made up. It's well done, and it presents interesting points about progress. But there are too many inconsistencies for it to be non-fiction.

Well, written and thought out.

The gaps in technological growth you pointed out seem obvious to me. There are no real gaps. The high technology is all there, but it was taken underground by governments who want to get the edge over other countries - mostly to use the knowledge to advance military weapons and craft.

The rest of us civilians have been stuck with the same old arrested technology. Once in a while they throw us a bone - the internet etc... But they won't let us know all the really cool stuff they have. It's all hush, hush.

Stupid mentality of control freaks who want to be king of the world. The rest of us are bored stiff, ready for more...

I was born a couple of years after wwII, and although I'm a tad bit younger than you, I remember when a man was measured by his word, not by his bank account.

In school we received a grade for scholastics AND a grade in 'citizenship'. I managed to actually learn the difference between right and wrong.

I was taught to be self-sufficient; the idea of going on welfare of any sort, including medical charity, was embarrassing.

My dad always had the backyard turned into a fabulous vegetable garden.

Although we had very, *very*, little money, we had standards of behavior that helped us keep our self-respect.

The important things in life were very clear. And money was not our God.

Ever hear of Hemp?? Used to do a helluva job on for a lot of things until the frickin' PTB made up a fairy tale that it should be illegal.

I think it's a question of will that the technologies we have aren't being properly utilised. That will has to come from central government in modern society. Clearly it isn't, and the decisions they are making are being melded by a few rich, powerful, and corrupt individuals.

The cost of the Gulf War for example could have made the USA energy independent and green, even possibly an energy exporter and technological front runner. Instead the US is bogged down in Iraq in what seems to be a move to secure the oil-based energy needs of the US and doubtless continued profits for Big Oil.

Until the government is purged of this self serving corruption, and the infantile decisions they make, based on control and power, halted, we can expect to be living in a mad house.

Jet fighters were not a factor in WWII. If they were then the Germans might have won.

Yeah, Eagle, things have changed a bit. I think one of the worst things to happen in the last century was when women en masse left their homes to get a career. That's okay on an individual basis for those who truly have a calling of some kind, but not when the entire mommy population walks away from their homes so they can get a paycheck. In the sixties we definitely had a sea change with women's 'lib'.

The net result has been that the kids grew up with Madison Avenue talking to them through the TV screen, instead of having the careful attention of a Mom and Dad to guide their growth. They have been taught that it is 'essential' to have 'stuff', and more and more 'stuff'.

People started throwing money at their problems, and trying to buy off their guilty conscience with toys and 'stuff' for their kids, instead of their time, energy and attention. After all, with both Mom and Dad gone at work all day, the hours after work and school became filled with catch-up housework and errands...who has time to sit with Tammy and play Tiddlewinks? Or make sure Jean is doing her homework? Or show little Freddie how to use a saw and hammer?

The schools and the TV became the new parents, and we see the results today. Very sad. My generation got a good education in public school, because we wouldn't DARE misbehave, or skip our homework. There was a work ethic, and excellence was the expected norm. We strove to succeed, and our parents paid attention to our progress. These days the poor teachers have so many dysfunctional students in their classrooms, they can't even teach. It's more like, "Just get me through the day, and I'll pass them all at the end of the year." We are the victims of deliberately lowered educational standards, and a common diet of chips and soda.

The thing that keeps me from getting too depressed to move, is the thought that somehow, some way, we are descended from people who survived, in an unbroken line, alllll the way back to 'wherever' it all began. So, life will go on, no matter what the outer circumstances. Survival is programmed into our DNA...but it's sad to watch Rome burning.
