I wouldn't expect to see a whole lot over Iran. There has to be someone there that collects the ads-b data and uploads that data to a tracking website. There are thousands of people who do that, sometimes you get free upgrades on the site you upload data too as an incentive. I would put money on it that this is a spoofed message.

I live near Beale AFB where U-2s are based. Over my house on approach every day on trainings. Amazing to me that an aircraft designed and built before I was born is still in operational use (and I'm old).

It is also interesting it's design was based on the F-104 fighter.

We don't use U-2 anymore. Have not used them since the 1970-80? we went to satellites for spy network. (Google earth)? were on some new shit now.

When you filter for military on that site you linked, it only shows a US C17 anywhere in the area... but it's not like you'd expect to see a U2 anyway.
