Even if it was real, there would be no retaliation strike again, retaliation for shooting down their aircraft because it intruded Iran's airspace ?  All the more reason why we would deny the mission ever took place... But as someone else previously said, the Iranians would have taken credit by now had they managed to shoot down an American U2 over Iran. Or there's a lot of hasty negotiating taking place... Imagine the blowback if this went full public (assuming the conspiracy slant is correct). Clearly in Iranian space via the radar track, a lost bird and likely a captured pilot...nasty Possibly Thread: Israel's i24 reports secret U.S - Iran meeting at hotel in Iraq's Erbil.
