The LN is more of a side chain project, which would work great for merchants who choose to accept BTC as payment for their goods/services.
Do you care to just make your point instead of trying to talk in riddles about what you're trying to say?

Why would I need a side chain project, when Bitcoin is and was working before? Do I need a side chain project for the internet? Do I need internet 1 and internet 2 side layer? Or does it make sense to have one powerful network? Of course you need more than one thing You have the internet, you have LAN, you have plenty of networks that work off/on the internet. Why does it need a side chain project? To help improve the network for the masses. You have LANs, WANS, and offline. But the main value is in the Internet itself. The main source of commerce. Side chains that help assist the improve and on board users to the internet. Not act as a leach of the main internet. Why is the BTC network itself constrained by an artificially limit of 1MB? Yet the protocol originally did not have this limit? Why do we need Lighting? When scaling used to work on chain? A side chain should help and assist the network,. Not act as a leach and suck the network. Is there a limit on the internet? No it's down to users infrastructure. Of course the internet has limits, its limited by our current technology
