Re: I thought GLP was crazy...
At my preferred Pool/Billiards forum, there’s a running discussion on leveling the slate on pool tables. Now, this comes up every so often and the discussions can get quite heated...

...but today I was reading a post where some guy is seriously talking about leveling a table with instruments that rely on satellite data...

I had to come back here for some good old fashioned forum normalcy.

No one will read and this post will slide, but IDGAF and I just had to say something since I can’t say anything there...

Carry on.

Obsessives need something to obsess about. Think of it as the anorexia of billiards. And keep in mind a poor workman blames his tools; the satellite level guy won't be any better and he'll move on to the weight distribution, and concentricity of his cues next.

They’re all over it. They argue about thread fabric affect on ball roll, the scientific merits and lack thereof of graphite (cue staffs), light and breathing humidity altering a TV table. You name it. If it affects or is related to pool, the discussions are exhaustive. The satellite post just hit me at the right time and gave me a much-needed laugh today.
