Photographer, Jake Wilton, was diving in WA when the manta ray approached
The ray, Freckles, flipped her body over to show hooks stuck under her eye

Absolutely beautiful. Thank you young man for caring for GOD's creatures. May HE look over/guide, protect, and bless you for the rest of this lifetime. The only true innocent inhabitants of this planet deserve better treatment than what mankind has done to them and their homes. Thank you for the uplifting video.

Re: Moment a wounded manta ray begged divers for help
LOVE this! Thx, OP!

“We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals. Remote from universal nature and living by complicated artifice, man in civilization surveys the creature through the glass of his knowledge and sees thereby a feather magnified and the whole image in distortion. We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate for having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein do we err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with the extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings: they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.”
Henry Beston, The Outermost House: A Year of Life on the Great Beach of Cape Cod

Wonderful, absolutly wonderful, sometimes now and again, something comes along and makes living seem tolerable.

This is very similar to the woman diver who holds surgeries so that sharks can come to her and have their hooks removed.

It's a video and trust me, you want to watch it because it reinforces what you already know, that the animals still know the relationship they and mankind were supposed to have...and also there are still those among us who understand that role as well..
