Acosta did what 99% of people in his position looking to move up would. The EF-B-EYE told him Epstein wanted to deal info for a plea deal (Bear Stearns hedge fund info) and Acosta did what they told him to. Acosta is/was just a stooge in a government job. It's like the military, you want to move up you better do what the generals tell you to and have the same politics. Dershowitz claimed the Gov didn't have much evidence and the deal was a good one for them. He had to register as a top level 3 sex offender and would be monitored. Now what the government had we don't know and we still don't. But Acosta isn't the guy who made the decision, just a guy in the chain.

Acosta the stooge of 2008 could not defend that, and decided to step down, and move on, no longer a distraction to the Administration. There is a case in FL to throw out the NPA still ongoing. That is the one AG Barr is recused from. Decision should come by August. Judge is Kenneth Marra. Who in the swamp is fighting that are no doubt the same ordering the stooge decisions in 2008.
