Both have the same mass -even if they have different volumes and are made of different materials- would always have the same weight.

No, they are not... it's just common sense to me...

Mass and weight are often used interchangeably but they are NOT interchangeable. where F is the force required to accelerate a Mass M at a rate a. Weight is a positive quantity which varies with gravity.

God-consciousness, as it is experienced by an evolving mortal of the realms, must consist of three varying factors, three differential levels of reality realization. There is first the mind consciousness—the comprehension of the idea of God. Then follows the soul consciousness—the realization of the ideal of God. Last, dawns the spirit consciousness—the realization of the spirit reality of God. By the unification of these factors of the divine realization, no matter how incomplete, the mortal personality at all times overspreads all conscious levels with a realization of the personality of God.

Re: What weighs more a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?
The pound of feathers is heavier.

By default, one lead starts off heavier than one feather. Because of this, you need a lot more feathers to reach one pound. Since you have to keep adding feathers, you end up with a lot more feathers than lead. So your feathers end up heavier.

It's not hard. Learn to math.

Now, this was a discussion me and a colleague were having in grade 6. I can tell you the answer based on our deliberations and analysis. They both weigh the same.

The trick (although you dont know it) was in your delivery which misleads the brain into disregarding the fact you clearly stated a pound for each.

What grade are you anyway sonny?

Re: What weighs more a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?
The answer also depends on whether we are living on a flat or round earth.

On flat earth, the downward force of gravity acts upon the lead and the feathers equally. Therefore, they weight the same.

On a round earth model, the spinning of the earth to create gravity would disturb the feathers and cause them to rise off the ground and float away, thus the feathers are lighter in this scenario.

Determine which of these is true, and you will solve the flat vs. round earth debate for good.

Re: What weighs more a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?
The measure is a pound, regardless of what makes up that pound.

To get your head around it,

Substitute the pound of feathers for a 1 pound weight, same with the lead.
Now put both weights on a scale,

Equal .
I can't give you the ultimate truth ,it's all a matter of perspective and spin. So I empower you with the gift of discernment.

Weigh the feathers one day, then the lead farther down the line (or the lead first, feathers later...your preference, but use a vacuum environment.) The two will have diferent weights at different times.

Go look at the SI definition for mass (a kiliogram) and what physical reference objects are used to define the standard. There are more than one reference units located in different locations around the world, and all of them have different weights (now) over time... Freaky...
