All someone needs to do is get a list of the providers who manufacture these devices (who offers them aka company), do some research to get FCC details (ton of info about the device > frequency it operates > etc.. If you have a day or a week of abnormal heart rythm and it's turned off or it's not reporting, but its below the threshold of shocking, they need the rhythm information as a precurser to shock. You would never know it and it may need to be adjusted. People sometimes have bad rythms and the devise does not fire, so without interrogating it they would not know to change the settings. They need the reporting to adjust the settings to have proper function of the device so it will function correctly to pace or shock. You want it on so it can be evaluated, it is a complex device. |

I honestly wouldn't even know how they would even come up with a solution. This can go deeper situation wise. Your home device that plugs into your telephone line communicates with your pacemaker. (If you have one of those) The device sends the data to the clinic for the review of the data. (Not sure what the procedure is) If someone wanted, they could technically sit there and sniff the frequency looking for data to RECORD and then retransmit the data. Technically, not only can they trigger your pacemaker (if they truly know what their doing) they can also troll and flood the data to your clinic, your clinic will think there is something more wrong (your health) or will think there is malfunctions in which will lead to them wanting to conduct surgery on you to so call fix the device. There is just a ton of possibilities, but I'm sure no one would even want to take the time to go through all of that unless they were really going after someone or just plainly sick in the head. |

I am not dependent on it but it is there for emergency. I have had it long enough to have 3 replacements because the battery only last 4-5 years. Well the newest one is readable from home. They sent me home with an interrogation device that reads my data and sends it in nightly for analysis through wifi. Pretty cool huh? Quoting: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot My son works cyber security for a branch of the Gov. I won't go into details but he is an ethical hacker. They combat criminal hacking obviously. He had heard that it was possible to hack my new device so attempted it and succeeded. I got rid of the interrogation device they gave me and told them I will make appts for device interrogation when needed. However anyone close enough to intercept my RF signal could do it through wifi. I dont pretend to know how this is done but my son told me they would really have to know the interrogation protocol of my device to adjust the settings, shock me or shut it off. He did get in far enough to read notes left on my diagnosis within the device. It was kind of cool but real creepy also. Still not sure how I feel about it. well, your stupid son is having his flesh stripped from him right now by medi-cabal T$ goons and you're definably next.... or, it's sunday and you're GLP'ing. you DO understand what's implied, correct? |
