That's fine. Women are free to speak, and the elders among them are powerful exhorters to the younger ladies. But not during the sermon.
We are told to keep them off the Pastor list, that's all.
I always suspected the scripture was referring to gossipy women in the audience. Women sat on one side, men on the other. They had a hard time keeping quiet with all that company nearby.
Still, the Book says what it says. We either heed it or we do not.

After the Pastor's services are complete (Church is over) they are encouraged to speak, to help each other, to have good fellowship, and that includes the women of course. Keeping silent in CHURCH meant during the sermon. This is a simple idea. Fair enough. I reckon there was a long waged war against women anyway, so if it meant what you say then some guy most likely took the opportunity to use it against women out of context. Sorry for laughing. Peace.
