I have 1531968 daemon blocks left to download . Im setting up a local hard wallet and intend on mining XMR monero . May even just buy some and trade . See if I can make some monies. Will probably keep some to use too . The new librem 5 linux phone will be able to convert XMR to USD in realtime using NFC to conduct transactions wherever NFC epayments are accepted . But downloading the blockchain takes forever .

Download it with a fast connection on a ssd, also most blockchains should have a bootstrap download...and you can replace files in the wallet folder in your %appdata

I paid 400 dollars for a GPU and am mining with Honeyminer, and only make about 30 cents a day. When you factor in electric cost I'm losing money. I'm assuming the value will go up in time though. I'm just doing it as a hobby I guess. Also, I found out that you only lose money with mining contracts. Don't even bother.

Your own node is the only node that can be trusted . just takes forever to set up via wifi
