Same environmentalist feel good bs but they'll never admit they are wrong even when scientifically proven. I've long wondered about this for cars and even smaller items like electric hand dryers. Ok, so you're saving paper, but is there any consideration of the emissions from the manufacturing of plastic housings, electric motors, and the generation of the electricity to run the dryers? Not to mention the aspiration of water particles into vapor, adding bacteria to the air, and the standing water on the floor?

Instead of Hydrogen, think Anhydrous Ammonia or NH3. More stable, remains a liquid at lower pressure, more H to utilize. For either combustion or cells.

Its not only the mining. Think about how inefficient the electric grid is, it gets converted to very high voltage and stepped back down, then goes.into some DC inverter at the car charger then into the charge controller and into bunches of cells in the battery, their are losses on each of these steps.

hydrogen..one of the most abundant elements on earth..burns clean..that's what we need.

Everyone should drive a Diesel.

They are very good for the environment, less refining of the fuel than gasoline and they last longer.

Many countries use diesels except America sadly.

As of 2014 all new parking lots in Los Angeles must have 10% of spaces for electric charging. The percent was to increase every year! I don't know the percent now? 20-30%. I have not built a parking structure in the last 5 years. I did read the code in 2014.
This is a huge cost to install and demand on the electric grid that already runs at 125+% during peak summer days and hours.

so rooms are 3-5 degrees warmer, 2nd stage same as above but 10%, 3rd stage 25% AC off no cooling, The next stage is overload of the utilities and brown or black out.
Add in cost for Daylight harvesting lighting control required 5+k and continued maintenance 1k a year. For all small retail business.

Parking structure 4 story one example, the batteries used for the storage of the electrical for emergency lighting 40 each 12v must battery's must be stored in a room with AC temperature must not exceed 75 degrees at all times or void warranty of $40k battery's So we cool the inverter rooms with utility supplied electrical to keep it cool for a system that is rarely used. Note where I work we have several of these, None in working order, That is no emergency lighting in a collage campus WTF. No money for batteries. But the AC is still on 24/7 365.

We have thousands of solar trash cans, They have a compactor built in cost $2k each for a fucking trash can! None work!!! And we pay for maintenance anyways.
We also have solar roll off dumpster compactors, Another fail don't work at night when the real clean up is done!

Solar is great if you use the power created directly or have no other options, Most residential with 2 working people only benefit for a few hours a day 5-7pm when you are home, the pay back for the cost is becomes decades not years.

The waste far outweighs the benefit. But they believe it is a good thing .

Where does the electric come from. If you convert 1000 btu of fossil fuel into electricity you lose 50 % from the conversion. If you were to use fossil fuels to power efficient internal combustion engine you could have 70% of energy available
