Had many cats over the years.

Mine used to go missing for day's on end.

Most of the time it was because someone else was feeding them.

If your cat is an indoor cat and he got out,,,leave your doors open and he will return...might also work if he is an outside cat...I've seen this happen many times; cats are home-bodies, recently my son's cat got out,,I told him to leave the door open that he got out from...he returned at 2:00 a.m. that night...........this also happened to him way back in the 90's different cat when he lived in an apartment complex of 400 units,,,cat got out of basement window....told him to leave the window open,,,cat came back a few days later (also middle of the night)....

Put out kitty’s bedding and/or toys on your porch or in your backyard. Leave out an article of (unwashed) clothing that has been worn by her person. Put out smelly cat food or treats.

It might sound gross, but sprinkling used kitty litter in and around your yard emits a strong scent that can attract your cat. You can also leave the litter box itself on your porch or in your yard.
