Your suggestion doesn’t teach him principles and virtue.... it simply teaches him to go ahead and commit crimes, just don’t get caught. . This idiot and ice cream licker should both be publicly paddled like the misbehaving children they are. Do it in front of the courthouse with lots of TV cameras. Broadcast it live. Stream it live. The deterrent effect won't come from the pain. It will come from the embarassment and public humiliation. 20 strikes, pants down, underwear only, bent over a deputy sheriff's knees. |

That is just stupidity! Teens are getting dumber and dumber every generation. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77589170 I am a younger one here and I can assure you that while this is dumb, it was also done because the dude wanted his 15 mins of fame. He knew that what he was doing was illegal but the impulse for fame canceled out the cognition of considering consequences amd that, furthermore, he did not ever think a felony was xoming his way. But the example must be made. Its like a 15 year old skateboarder whose board shoots out into a crowd and ends up severely injuring an elderly person. The teen is not thinking in terms of "I shouldn't do this, someone might get hurt" but rather "this will be cool." In brief, you've got to be a degenerate teenager to think spitting into a product like that is "funny". You also have to be dumb as shit to bring that home, notice the seal was cracked, and drink it anyway. If it was up to me I would have given him the death penalty. Agreed, these food lickers always concern me as I am a germafob, and live with the fear of whose dick did he suck and has he mastered the art of hand washing or the ability to use toilet paper. Fk him, I use fkng paper to open the door in a public restroom and he thinks he is funny? Everyday I just learn another reason why I hate fkng people of the new cool video fame, that of course, eventually causes them to commit suicide when they find out no one give a fk about them and their sex life, their comedy and stupid sht they do for their 15 minutes. |

It's best to consider every food handler being like "Poppy" on Seinfeld. Nearly all chain restaurants are totally out of the question. Unfortunately, the stage to act out is everywhere. The same ferrals that are fighting at McDonalds are the same ones preparing your food and the same ones that have a stench emanating from their ass cracks. So, I give a pass to fast food. FCK the WEF! Keep your hands off my country! |

You mean how like prison and the death penalty deter people from killing, raping, and torturing? Sounds like a grand idea! The death penalty fails as a deterrent because it typically takes 15 to 25 years to actually execute a murderer due to a lengthy and mandatory appeals process. The death penalty should be called life in prison with possible euthanasia. Also executions are not public. They should be. Prison as a deterrent suffers from one serious flaw: the only people who know how bad a maximum security prison really can be are the inmates and the COs. We all hear stories and see things on TV but the reality is far worse. The misery of prison as a deterrent fails because the public doesn't see it. I don't know how to rectify this. Crimes of passion can never really be deterred. There is no reasoning behind the crime, only blind emotion. A certain percentage of all violent and sex crimes will occur no matter what we do. I advocate public shaming and corporal punishment because it hasn't been a part of our justice system for a long time if ever. What we have been doing seems to have lost its effectiveness. So for petty crimes let's give ass whipping a try. |

So for petty crimes let's give ass whipping a try. We have lost the power of shame. When I was teaching, we were told not to use the word ashamed. When I was a kid, if I got punished, I was ashamed and it kept me good. In my town, the police have started putting up all the mugshots on their facebook page and then it tends to get reposted on several community pages, where people make fun of them. My friend that works at the station told me that while they are being processed, most of them beg not to have their picture posted on the facebook page, so maybe the public shame will be more of a deterrent than actual prison time. |
