One guy set up a card in his name only to pay the cell phone bill of company employees. The bill is usually close to 8 grand a month. The company refunds him, and he gets all the points or cash back incentives.

Another guy in the rental business found a bank that lets him pay house notes on his card. He says he hasn't paid for a hotel in years. He travels alot!

Yeah, I haven't had a credit card in 20 years so my credit rating is too low to get the equity loan, because you know, I've worked at the same company for 16 years, so I have to get a credit card to prove I have a credit card so I can charge something and then pay it off, but wait one fucking minute, you have to wait until the BILL comes due before you pay it off or guess what? Damn straight, it doesn't count. Now, you have to keep a small balance on it, not pay it off in one month to prove that you are responsible by not paying the whole fucking thing off at one time because apparently, if you can't pay it off, you're more credit worthy. Weeeee, credit is fun!

I pay EVERYTHING on my Miles card all bills, then pay it off at the end of the month. Fly free all the time.

debit card. you can only spend what you have in your account.

Balance transfer - if you are paying a higher interest rate and getting nowhere getting the balance down, if you can do a balance transfer to a lower interest rate, put all the money owed on that, you will save interest.. even $40 a month can add up over time.

Also the lie about payday loans where people claim they charge so much interest on them,, is false and misleading. They CAN save you money like this -

When i was very broke, i was going to bounce some checks caused by my mistake. Anyway, the bounce fee was $35 plus a $25 monthly bank fee.

I got a payday loan for $100 which cost me $10 fee.

I THEN PAID IT OFF NEXT PAYCHECK.

People use this unwisely. They do not pay it back next paycheck and roll it over another period of time. Now, they have hardly any money, and now that payment makes them even more in the hole, and then they roll that over another time. This is how the interest grows.

But you have to use it one time and pay it back next payday like i did and you wont be paying the super high interest that comes with these.

People are broke and they are not willing to suffer to make that payment.. But if they dont they will be in a worse hole. In order to make that payment, they might have to go without spending anything but it will be worth it.

$10 payday loan fee vs $60 bounce fee is way better.

Oh the other thing, if you bounce a check, then that takes money from your other checks you paid.. The bounce will cause the other 3 checks to bounce that you also paid at the same time and i swear one month my fees for bouncing a check were $120. I forgot to write down a payment that was an automatic payment, and i was short about $3 or less. But that auto payment came in and because of a stupid $3 shortage in my account, I caused that huge bounce fee :( Another time i was short a few cents (like 25 cents or something very tiny) yet a check came in and it bounced and the bank did not do anything to waive the fee. They were brutal.

I can't watch videos but you know what else is a ripoff? Not having any credit at all. I've always paid cash for whatever I purchase and never had a credit card so to honor my responsibility, I and those in the same situation, get to pay more upfront for paying in full, always have to put up a deposit for utilities and we get to pay the credit service fee that's tacked on to sales prices. Thankfully it's not as much as interest.

i used my personal credit card for business. i easily spend 500k a year and akways have the cash to pay it off. this gives me heaps of frequent flyer points . haha

I took my 3rd cruise last year. This one was totally free.
I use the carnival card for everything. Took me 3 years, paid for the entire cruise , shuttle, airplane tickets, and some stateroom deliveries.
when I got back, I redeemed the points from my purchases on the cruise for 90 days after, and it paid on some excursions and bar tabs that were eligible.
Now I start over accumulating the points.
I’m guaranteed a cruise every 3 years with this method, and I’ve paid zero interest.
If you spend more then I do, you’ll get your free cruise sooner.

I paid off my last cards last year. What a relief.

Use credit card.

Always pay it IN FULL at the end of every month.

If you start being unable to pay in full, STOP using that credit card.

A credit card is very convenient. The emails breaking down all your purchases are very useful, and you get return privileges and warranties with them.

But only if you don't carry a balance.

Carrying a balance is the stupidest thing you can possibly do. Only do it rarely, if you're desperate. And try to do it never. Don't be that desperate. Don't carry a small balance. The only good balance month-to-month is ZERO.

This is doing it right. But I am sure you are religious about paying the balance in full every month.
