I'm up along the river this week, under the pine trees. It's hot as balls, but not as bad as some places.


Even so, I'm sitting in the AC cuz it's hot as fucking balls out.

Pool thermometer says 82, laser thermometer says 86, I say its around 88.

I'm enjoying the weekend indoors: reading, surfing the net, watching classic films & tv shows.

I never go to the beach on weekends anyway. That's when all the BENNYs from North Jersey and New York. It's better on weekdays: quiet with plenty of parking.

thermometers been reading 88-90, but the dewpoint is 77 and damn near 100% humidity.

It's 96 degrees now and very humid.

It was 86 F here in SE Florida today.

Spent about 4 hours at the beach.

I would hate the winters in the New England area, and it seems I would hate the summers there as well...

does not compare to the summer of '94......


actual temp in NYC 104.

this is not that bad... yesterday was fine....the last 2 days there was a nice cool wind.

last year was the last time it got this hot...before that...i guess...the year before.

The heat up here has been brutal.
Had to put old my dinosaur air conditioner in
my bedroom window and it now blocks the view...
Uh... and i mean the view ya look at and say WOW !
Not that crew of "b" words on TV.
Fortunately i am OLD and learned a few tricks
about staying cool from my mother.
Like doing laundry which is composed of things
that have to dry naturally.
Hang them on the curtain rods in door ways and
then aim the window fans at them... That is old
fashion air conditioning. And it works.
Also pulled curtains and dimmed lights as they
produce heat.
Then break out those wonderful old 1930s movie
tapes i got for free at the recycling center.
And went to the grocery and got lots of fresh
food to chop up and munch on while i watch
them. And perked up a bunch of natural ice tea.
Adding fresh lemon juice after it cooled....
People up here...
Well at least us republicans up here know how
to deal with Heat and Cold plus Rain and Snow.
While the Democrats are running around complaining
and whinning and drinking a cold beer or two or
three or four or more....... and more yet.

Hot weather is overrated.

It's hot here in the UK . I'm beating the heat by living with all doors and windows open day and night. My dogs need the cool air flow throughout the house, I need the cool air flow too lol. 4.5 tog duvet and still too warm at night!

It's hot but not much different from other summers this time of the year and not as bad as the hype.

We've had hotter summers before that went easily over 100.

wet t shirt , breeze or fan, and shade. it's over 100 most of the summer here, above 110 is even ok when wet with breeze and shade. i don't even use air conditioning in home or car.

In July 2011 it went up to 108 in NYC but I'm wondering why it's not on the books. I was there and distinctly recall it because I was looking at an outdoor thermometer.

However, the records do show that it was 108 in Newark NJ at the time. Newark is very near NYC. Go figure.
