Exactly I've explained that and shown videos in other posts that verify what has happened. I live here in Wichita where we build the fuselage and have been building Boeing plane parts for over 70 years and this is horseshit.

Wrong OP, this is what happen when you decided "to fix a complex aerodynamic issue using the cowboy paradigm: quick and cheap".

They obviously did not understand cost escalation of discovering defects at later stages... The worst time to find major defects is after you've sold the product and its gone live.

It would have cost hardly anything if the problem was detected at the point which it was introduced ie the computer code, or during early testing of modules of that code by proper testers that knew what to look for..

Instead the defects went unnoticed and replicated themselves throughout the aircraft and all other subsequently built aircraft, making it cost a fortune to re-design, rebuild and re-test from scratch. not to mention the damages done to Boeing's business reputation, and the loss of life in the two crashes.

SOFTWARE TESTING IS FUCKING IMPORTANT! YOU DON'T STOP TESTING UNTIL ALL TESTING CRITERIA ARE MET.

The only thing that could save Boeing now would be to build on the design of the Concorde, keeping what worked and updating avionics, computers, engines and such to what is proven to be safe and test it all properly.. if they're lucky and have the right materials they could get it to cruise at mach 3 perhaps, without afterburner.

737s were fine for decades. Why did they have to break it? If it an't broke don't fix it!

They decided to change for bigger and most fuel efficient engines to compete with Airbus.

I read recently that the production of the Boeing 777 planes were moved to a new facility in North Carolina to save money. The worker's there are non-union and an under cover investigative journalist interviewed some worker's on site saying the quality control at the plant is almost non existent and they(the worker's) would not fly on these planes. Scary shit!

When they started making those planes with fewer but bigger engines, I knew it was a bad idea. You need more smaller ones for redundancy.

Airbus has them also.

Blame it on the corporates hiring Indian companies TCS,INFOSYS,WIPRO,COGNIZANT,IBM. These companies hire graduates directly from India and bring them here to work for less than $10/hr and rotate their resources for every 6 months to train their inexperienced resources.

The one's graduated from US colleges are usually smart and hardworking people. These people are usually paid more than American workers.

Indians treat programming as a task to be completed with numbers and fire those that can't work fast enough, rather than a task requiring quality where people are educated to avoid mistakes and fired only as a last resort
