Same very sad thing thing here, AC; my neighbor's daughter cuts herself. And when asked why she did it, she said OH, EVERYBODY DOES. It is learning about such situations in my personal surroundings, as well as knowing of the violence in many other areas of life and in other countries worldwide, which impels me to try and research the very root causes of such behaviour. Lack of self love and lack of the concept that one is unique and special is part of the cause. We have deliberately been cut off from our divine identity. This may seems like big words. What do they really mean? That everyone is born with a divine plan, in the same way that a certain seed is destined to develop according to a certain pattern. We will be helped along this path, if we believe it to be true ...

Regarding crystals: the only one I possess is an amethyst. I dreamt about it one night, and a while afterwards I saw THAT EXACT SAME CRYSTAL on sale in a market, and I put it on the windowsill where is was in my dream. No particular meaning in this, except to prove there is a connection between everything, and that dreams can sometimes be pointers ...

Please think about what you said, branding this thread as "stupid". And please offer us your own wisdom, which will ge gained from your own life experience. It feels as if you are extremely angry with the way things are at the moment, and you would be right to be so. I personally would rather go into action than sit and wait for it to get even worse.

The most highly developed technology has so far been reserved for the military, which had the internet long before the general public. We can be sure that if google maps can show us our back gardens, then the military will be able to see what book we are reading while we sit in that garden. One estimate is that military technology is actually 50 years ahead of what is admitted. So technology is reserved for warring purposes, not for example, for greening the desert ...

Because we are presently at a low level of spirituality on this planet, a very high level of technology is not yet "allowed" since it would be used for destruction and war. Imagine, for example, a machine which would pulversise anything in sight into nothing. This could be used on the piles of rubbish we have accumulated, or to deal with sanitation instead of using water to flush. This would clear up pollution and preserve resources. But until we "grow up" spiritually, this is not an option because we would use it to kill people. It again depends on us - and our level of belligerence - as to how soon we will be allowed access to such processes.

Imagine a ladybird running across the skin of your finger. What might she understand about you? She may explore the surface of you, travelling over fingernails and hairs. What I am trying to convey here is that UNDERSTANDING SOMEONE is a lengthy and complicated process, whereas many fall into the trap of immediately judging someone according to what they might once have seen, or what the person might once have said or done.

Not only can we not know another person in a definitive sense, that person is also EVOLVING, in the same way that we are EVOLVING and learning. Thus each encounter is a momentary and fleeting affair, without us ever having the "full picture". If we are aware of this, then our journey is full of WONDER as we contemplate what NEW ASPECTS of a person will come to light today, or how we may be invited to REVISE OUR PREVIOUS OPINION.

If we start on a smaller scale, this means that as we go about our daily duties in our homes, we are simultaneously aware of the old newspapers and shoes mouldering away in our attic.

On a mental level, it means that there are things at the back of our minds which might require attention. On a global level, it means being aware of the desserts when we are in the lush hills, being aware of the massive power of the oceans when we are at the source of a river, being aware of the huge differences in terrain, the huge differences of wealth and poverty, the huge differences between the advantaged and the disadvantaged.

To know of these differences continuously may encourage gratitude (in those who have more than they need) and inspiration to instigate change. For those in dire circumstances, knowledge that there is so much more on this earth to experience may give them hope. A widening of perspectives - though not always pleasant - to the point of global overview will ultimately lead to abundance for all. Some people will now say that this is not possible, since those in control do not have this particular aim, yet those in control will not always have the reins in their hands in the future; those who have good intentions will.

IF EVERYBODY FOLLOWS THEIR VOCATION

In our present situation, there is often a strict delineation between WORK and LEISURE. The word "work" usually designates something which is a chore, which has to be completed, which involves a lot of effort and often sacrifice.

Everyone is glad to get AWAY FROM WORK and BACK HOME after an exhausting day, presuming they have that luxury. Some people - even children - falls asleep at their workplace and wake up in the same place the next morning.

At the moment, the opposite of work is LEISURE, and pressure is also on to fill this leisure time to the hilt with "entertainment" of all sorts. Thus there is no time left over to THINK or reflect on how society might improve, or how another direction can be taken.

Thirdly we have this thing called HOLIDAYS (originating from HOLY DAYS where nothing was done, but in fact every day is a holy day), and again, those with access to money will fly halfway around the world to spend this holiday in an exotic place.

WEEKENDS are a major focus where many tend to "live it up" excessively because they are not "living" during the week.

How can these armies of unhappy souls, dragging their feet through weeks and years,, caught in their various repetitive or menial jobs, be directed to a more satisfying and inspiring occupation? Apart from the abolition of the monetary system, which must necessarily be accompanied by the desire to contribute daily and not to degenerate into greed, genuine effort must be put into the educational system to support the talents and inclinations of students, firing their curiosity, developing their skills so that they enter into a pastime which they really love and which is of real benefit. Thus the word WORK would become redundant.

IF DEVOTION AND LOYALTY INCREASE STABILITY

Strong loyalty is generally restricted to family or smaller social/religious groups. To extend this loyalty to a country or nation will prevent local or provincial "in-fighting". Some will call this patriotism, or even nationalism in a derogatory way, but irrespective of the labels we choose, this can be a positive phenomenon which consolidates self-confidence, increases stability and makes one MORE CAPABLE OF BALANCED RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER NATIONS.

In this connection we can recall the words of Kahil Gibran on marriage - another "institution" requiring loyalty and which over the millennia has contributed to increasing the stability of society (quote "stand together, but not too near together ...")

In pursuit of personal goals, or the goals or a particular organization and enterprise, great effort must sometimes be extended, particularly if there is great competition. Under these conditions, there may be battles for resources, or hoarding of resources, or even concealment, destruction or manipulation of certain resources so that the competitors cannot become a threat. While competition can be healthy, destruction is not.

What are "material resources"? Natural resources, scientific knowledge, material goods and human potential. All these can be optimally co-ordinated so that we work together towards a worthy common goal.

Why are wild animals aggressive? Do they have a reason to be so? Have they been exploited and hunted for millennia? Will this fear of violent humans have entered into the genetic mind of the earth, where it is ready waiting as "instructions" for future animal births? Can we rewrite these instructions by reversing our violent behaviour?

Do humans produce more and produce higher quality if they are happy and well? Would this not be the same for animals also? Here we are talking free range hens as opposed to battery hens, for example.

The demand for meat determines and dominates landscapes. Vast areas land (as well as huge amounts of water) are dedicated to the production of cattle. Vast areas are devoted to growing maize as pig fodder.

Except for a few, frequent meat-eating is not necessary to health. On the contrary, it requires hours of digestion, it inserts unwanted "medicines" and substances into our bodies, and it requires the death of a living being.

New technologies are being developed which can "grow" meant without involving animals. This is the future, a largely vegetarian world, and humans which treat animals with kindness.

The universal desire to serve our fellow humans is essential to this. Although at present, the main intention is to serve self, the scales will in future tip in the other direction. And benefit to self will also be a result, as others will treat oneself with benevolence.

Like the words "work" and "leisure", the words "employed" and "unemployed" will lose their meaning, for all will be employed in the service of others. It will no longer be possible to extract "benefits" from others while doing nothing. Society is weakened by having to support large classes of "unemployed".


Service to others, rather than service to an organization or affiliation or political party, will be the most highly regarded of offices.

IF PEOPLE LOOK IN EACH OTHERS EYES

Not looking in to each other's eyes is a disease which is rife, especially in urban areas where every spare moment appears to be consumed by mobile phones, the internet, social media etc. Most heads are always DOWN, and attention is not on the surroundings, unable to discern if someone requires help, unable to return a smile, unable to give up a seat to a disabled person on a train, unable to benefit from new, entering and inspiring encounters, unable to recognize danger.

To look directly into someone's eyes is to show them respect, give them attention, and sometimes to see "the window to the soul".

I chose that avatar, Rosicrucian, for a number of reasons:
- the very vibrant colours
- the water element signifying flow and change
- the ripples caused by a single stone, representing the effect of our every decision.

There was an experiment or happenstance, I forget...where carnivorous lizards moved to another part of an island where they became vegetarians. They lost their aggressiveness and started to have pretty colors.

Like a stone thrown into a pond, our soul lands in a body and immediately starts to cause ripples. We start to make decisions at a very early age. We learn that crying will get us some attention, even if, as a baby, we cannot explain what sort of attention we need. We also decide how long to scream, and when to give up, if no attention is forthcoming.

Whatever stage we are at - in babyhood or adulthood - we continue to "make waves", even if we are not conscious of doing so. When someone enters a room, or a life, the atmosphere changes. When they leave, it changes again.

We are the ones who determine the QUALITY of our actions, of those waves and HOW FAR THEY WILL SPREAD. If we do not move, the water will remain still.

Yet there are other "waves" which continue ETERNALLY. Thought traverses the universe. "Waves" from nuclear detonations in our atmosphere also TRAVEL FAR, threatening other beings on other planets. To be always aware of the consequences of our actions, and to restrain ourselves from making wrong moves, is to ensure peace on our earth and with our planetary neighbours.

Not gonna happen. The world becomes peaceful when those who are aggressive without need are eliminated. Everyone wants to keep them, so that means they love war. I'm not giving up my free will so that you can keep your warriors.

You are right, Surethingbuddy, in that there are many many people on this planet who do not have the capacity to expand their minds and grow in spirit. They cannot reflect upon their own behaviour - living purely "in the moment" on a materialisitc level - and thus they cannot improve their behaviour. The earth had been burdened by this "heaviness", this lack of growth, for a very long time, and cannot bear it much longer. Thus, your wish that such people be "eliminated" will at some stage occur. However, the word "eliminate" is not such a good description. It will not be the result of someone saying YOU HAVE GOT TO GO. They determine their spiritual level themselves, and if they cannot meet that of the earth, then they will be removed to another world where the circumstances are better for them for learning purposes. So that has actually nothing to do with your free will. The purpose of your free will is to decide your own fate and create your own path through your own decisions.

That sounds reasonable: as in if everyone of their own free will acts in alignment with cosmic/universal law, there would be no need for any leaders/preachers/wayshowers because everyone would already know what sort of behaviour benefits all.

Thank you for your reply. I think talking in person would be more effective in sorting this out, as it can get complex and there are so many things to consider. However, I shall try and explain here.

I am not talking about "virtuous peasants". I am talking about those who are - for want of a better word - partly robotoid/AI infested and who thus are not programmed to have a conscience (the extreme version of this is cyborg soldiers etc). If they do - under these adverse circumstances - actually develop one, that is a comparatively big achievement.

Some great advice there, AC. The bible is unfortunately mistranslated, censored, and "incomplete" in the first place - the New Testament is a selection of 4 out of 50 scripts, 300 years after Jesus - who never wrote a book or started a "religion" - actually walked the earth. If people thought this through rationally and unemotionally and did some research, it would be clear that there cannot be much accuracy in it at all. There are however, some beautiful and meaningful passages ...

You are not speaking of a missing conscience, but of a conscience that is oriented in the wrong direction. When I see justice, actual justice, meted out on those my community has protected, then I will begin to respect their exclusive claims on its administration.

In this case I actually do mean "missing". And it is missing due to DNA manipulation which took place years ago, implemented by the "dark side".

Justice will be inevitably meted out if it is warranted. Some people call it KARMA, but it can also be seen as the workings of the law of cause and effect. It will kick in.
