The world will become peaceful, beautiful and abundant
IF WE PRACTICE TRUE HUMILITY

Nature can supply us with many good examples of “humility”. Trees do not strive to impress each other. Water does not aim to succeed. Seeds do not give parties when they germinate, flower or die. They are providers of food but expect no payment. Birds manage to get through life without spending any money. They do not compete for “likes” on social media. They do not retreat “on holiday” because they think they need a rest. Neither do they retire because they have reached a certain age. They only stop when their natural cycle has come to an end, and they end without pomp and circumstance.

While parties and celebrations can be a wonderful way of bringing people together and honouring passage, how much of this is pandering to ego, and what happens when the continuous stream of propping this ego up should suddenly fail? The higher the pride, the steeper the fall, as the saying goes.

What lies behind the drive to earn continuous “admiration”? It may be a lack of self-respect, a lack of self-confidence, fear of competition with others, or pure addiction to power.

A humble person who is capable of admitting deficits, and who is capable recognizing that there is still a way to go as far as improvement is concerned, is on the learning road. Someone who is not on the learning road, especially if we ourselves are, will cause stagnation in our relationships and in whatever arena they decided to play.
