OK AC 76585116: you are saying that I am in the same corner as that other thread (called GOD LOVES WAR AND VIOLENCE), which is definitely not the case. Here is the first post from that thread, and then I will comment on that. Every square inch of this Earth is a battlefield for bugs, animals and men. This is how God created the world. And you christers believe that the "meek shall inherit the Earth"?

The real God loves war. He drinks blood from the skull of his enemies. He enjoys sex, especially with the women of the enemies. Read the OLD Testament!
Christianity is anti-nature because it teaches to hate your body which was created by....God.My answer: God/Creation/Source/Universal Mind creates ONLY IN LOVE. He/she/it HAS NOT CREATED A MESS or a BATTLEFIELD. It is US, collectively and over many millennia, who have created the BATTLEFIELD. Think back on all the massacres in their millions worldwide. In the Middle East alone since 9/11. MILLIONS AND MILLIONS. DID A PERSON CALLED GOD DO THAT???!!! The idea is not be meek but to TAKE ON RESPONSIBILITY and to RESPOND IF REQUIRED. Being meek when someone is trying to kill you is SUICIDE.
Again, GOD is not a person with human appetites as the poster above describes. The OLD TESTAMENT is indeed a bloodthirsty document, but WE DO NOT HAVE TO BELIEVE IT ALL. And yes, we are individuals, but we are all DIVINE INDIVIDUALS and part of the DIVINE WHOLE. Here is my previous answer: AC: Is the earth really nothing more than a rock floating through space? Does it not look like a living organism from afar - a globe with rivers, oceans an weather systems all connected to each other on the surface, a globe with an internal heating system with vents (volcanoes), a globe with "floating tectonic plates" which are in slow but constant movement? This is a lifeless rock? And what position does this rock have in space? Is it tossing here and there, moving irrationally and sporadically? Is it motionless one moment and falling or rising the next? Is it spinning at a fairly constant rate? Is it following a certain course? Is it part of a larger system containing planets on similar courses? Is the sun that all these planets circumnavigate there by chance? Is the sun motionless? Does it circle another sun called Alcyone? Is there no organization here? Is is all completely "pot luck" as to what happens out there in space? And is it by pure chance that our earth rotates ON A TILT? Try standing at a tilt and rotating continuously. This is what the earth is doing. Does it feel pleasant? What happens to you if you are burdened over many many years by unsolvable problems and if you are exploited by 9 billion people? Will you walk strong and tall, or will your back be bent and your shoulders hunched? Won't you feel the desire to throw off everything which is burdening you? Won't you want to sit down and take a rest? This is the point we are at. The world will become peaceful, beautiful and abundant
IF OUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES ARE SIMULTANEOUSLY AN OPPORTUNITY TO REFLECT
A man is running along a road. The road stretches before him in a completely straight line, ending at a lighthouse in the far distance. He concentrates on moving forward with all his might in order to reach his destination. As he runs, his awareness is on the light at the top, guiding his steps on a purely physical level. Yet he is also aware that the same steps, at different times, feel lighter or heavier. This is because the road, although perfectly straight, also rises and falls from time to time, although it is not perceptible to the eye.
As he runs through the night, his eyes see the light more clearly – an immobile pinpoint contrasting with the stars which move across the sky. And during the day, the light all but disappears, yet he knows it is there. As he runs in reflection, he realises that the ground he is running on is actually the earth, turning through periods of night and day, and that the spinning earth is also moving round the sun.
As he turns inward, he reflects upon the constant circuit within himself, the passage of blood, the expelling of residue, the eternal renewal process of his cells, and he wonders in particular at those cells on the soles of his feet which are under constant pressure. He notices his breath – regular when relaxed, flat when in fear, imperceptible when he is asleep. In periods of heightened awareness, he becomes the earth itself, imagining what it must be like to feel the imprint of his running shoes on her body, how they bend the grass, how they thud on the concrete which prevents her breath.
In the end, the running man reaches his destination, only to find that a new circle of potential destinations has opened up as he surveys the landscape from the top of the lighthouse. Reflecting upon his past and potential future journeys he recognises the DENSITY of the physical matter he has traversed, and the physical body he has used to traverse it, but his experience has been so much more than this. NEW DIMENSIONS have opened up to him, resulting from his ability to reflect, observe, empathise and wonder. Holding all these perceptions at once, the running man recognises himself as part of the ENTIRE COSMOS.
