He actually first made a short movie, Electronic Labyrinth THX-1138 4EB (the EB stands for Earth Born) in '67 while he was still learning at the film school and Thx 1138 was made based on that short movie....

He could've made some awesome movies out of this movie.... Earth Born implicates off planet colonies at the very least.... And I would've loved to see what kind of a world Robert Duvall (awesome actor) escaped to...

Instead we got Star Wars which I loved as a 12 year old... I've only watched one of his later Star War movies, hated it haven't seen the rest....

This movie, Thx 1138 had a huge impact on my as a teenager in the 70's, just like the first two Planet of the Apes movies, Charlton Heston on the beach looking at the Statue of Liberty, to me, is one of the most iconic film moments ever....

Not to mention 2001 and Quest for Fire :)

THX might be my favorite movie ever made because of everything it is..or was before the goddamn redo.
