Walmart and dollar stores get 80 percent of their stuff from China. All that cheap stuff including food will go up in price. We are not seeing it now, but in a year we will. |

Thing is, all that Trump merchandise is garbage anyway and only a few with more money than sense would be buying any of it. It's too easy to get better quality at a better price elsewhere, especially for China-made. If I want Chinese, I'd rather buy something that the Chinese people themselves are proud of and would use. They are an intensely practical people, for good or for ill, that's their most outstanding characteristic. And no Chinese in his right mind would consider a garment or accessory from say, Ivanka, as a good investment of his hard-earned cash.:) I didn't mind voting for Trump, because I'm a Republican and he was the nominee; I'd even have voted for Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio but that doesn't mean I have to shop at his crappy stores too. It's too much like being guilted by Mom into shopping at Aunt Mary's because she just divorced a cad and has opened a boutique to make ends meet.:) |

If you want manufacturing to come back: - Drastically reduce the size of government - Use cuts in government spending to greatly reduce taxes - Get rid of the insane amount of regulations These tariffs are trying to fix the problem without solving the root of the actual problem.
