Why do non-homeowners have right to vote?
Just wondering, as they have no stakes in most matters.

Agreed, should based on how much land you own, or taxes paid.
Used to be this way in history, shouldn’t have changed

No, he's right.
Why as a renter should you be able to vote on a bond measure that'll increase property taxes?

And if you have no income, and are dependent on welfare, why should you vote in any tax measure issue? You don't contribute to the system at all, and should have no say in the matter.

Ask any accountant. When you pay your rent it is understood that the landlord will be using a percentage to pay property taxes.

A better question would be, why do people on welfare have a right to vote? 100% of their income is from entitlements. They should have no say at all.

Because renters pay the landlord's property taxes.

I guess sec 8 housing owners and foreign Chinese government should be voting.

voting is bs anyway. We are way past voting fixing any problems.

People might as well face the facts . You are going to be enslaved and probably murdered by the government in a few years.

They are already refusing to enforce laws to protect you against the mob. They love this shit. Its the communist agenda.

Because almost no one would be able to vote in that case. All these 'homeowners' should stop paying property tax and see who really has allodial title to their house.

All they have is a certificate of title...

Everyone should have the right to vote, but property owners should get more votes.

My mom said vote on every sales tax or they will just raise property taxes.
I grew up. She was right.

There was no such thing as the Dark Ages in America. Some might call it the great depression but not much to do with the OP's topic. I agree, no one who rents without a job should be allowed to vote.

The working class that has made America great for so many is tired of getting fucked over.

WE have had enough

To those of you that believe you are a home owner.

Look on your Deed.
You are identified as a tenant.
You do not and can not own property.
Federal Citizens (those with a birth certificate)
can not own property.

At best, you have an equitable interest in a piece of property.

Not the point.
The point is that homeowners pay property taxes.

They are paying into the system. (And supposedly) the property tax payers have a say on how their money's spent.
That's done by approving or disapproving ballot measures by voting on them.

In the court system, that's called: 'standing'.
Only a plaintiff with standing can be able to sue a defendant for instance.

So the question is: Why should someone who doesn't pay into they system get a say on how their money's spent?

Exactly.

This is supposed to be a free country and with that comes a responsibility to take care of your own business.

If you go to the government and are getting welfare or other freebies then you are not taking care of your business.

People on government assistance should never be allowed to vote as it is a conflict of interest and of course they will vote for more handouts.

Then you have Government workers and contractors who should never be allowed to vote as they also have a conflict of interest and will vote to keep money flowing to their particular entity. The only government workers who should be able to vote are military members.

Then bankers, Wall Street members and large corporations also have a conflict of interest
