Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76958290 It's the choice between living a very basic, least effort, least doing your part for society kind of lifestyle vs working hard fulfilling a skilled role and living in a more luxurious life.. 15 sounds like a lot to us older folk, but these days that's not very much money at all, actually. |

If you raise the unskilled to $15 then the skilled will make $30. If you raise unskilled to $100 then skilled will make $200. Prices will adjust accordingly. The buying power of a burger flipper is ALWAYS going to remain the buying power of a burger flipper. No..matter...what...the...politicians...tell....you. |

The buying power of a dollar gets lower and lower, so they have to pay more to make up for it. So, the prices are already adjusted by natural inflation, it's the pay that's lagging behind |

So you raise the wage. Businesses raise prices to pay for the wage. Rinse and repeat. The minimum wage earner has the same buying power. Their situation does not improve at all. The only people who benefit are the politicians because people vote for this mirage every single time. |

I beg the government for help. The government passes a law that anyone who buys a rusty Ford Pinto must pay no less than $50000. I am shocked that people buy a new Range Rover instead and that they show even less interest in my Pinto. But I am a Democrat and I cannot figure out why. Meanwhile a guy finally shows up who would pay $100 for the Pinto. But now he can't because ot is illegal. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76958290 Because $15 an hour is barely adequate for most people "he's actually right you know." you earn 15 an hour buy games and cloth, the government pays all your bills. You make 30 an hour and you pay all your shit = actually worst than 15 an hour. |

It is these burger flippers for whom the raise would be for lol |
