Millennial reign of Christ

It makes sense if one understands animal sacrifices in Old Testament were symbolic. They did not provide absolution or payment for sin. They pointed us to our need for God's mercy.

In the millennium, people apparently will use the sacrifices as a reminder.

Object lesson is probably a better term.
